Register now for PJ Story Hour
It's time to register your child for PJ Story Hour at the Wells County Public Library. Kids ages three to six years old will have fun, learn and develop valuable social skills with stories, fingerplays and crafts on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Free.
Registration is required and can be made online at www.wellscolibrary.org, by calling the children's Room at 260-824-1612, or in person at the main library.

Montpelier Craft & Bazaar looking for vendors
The Montpelier Nazarene Church will sponsor a Craft Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 2. They are looking for vendors. Cost is $5 per vendor. To reserve a space call 765-728-5905.

Lancaster Chapel Ice Cream Social Aug. 21
The Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church annual Homemade Ice Cream Social will be held Saturday, Aug. 21 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
Pies, cakes, and sandwiches will also be available. A freewill donation will be taken. The church is located at 4510-East 400-North, Craigville. The public is welcome.

Cari Ray Band at Kehoe Aug. 22
Cari Ray Band will perform at Kehoe Park Sunday, Aug. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. The event is free to the public.

Bow Shoot Aug. 22
On Sunday, Aug. 22 the Ouabache Archers will have a Bow shoot from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ossian Conservation Club. Several new Rinehart 3-D Targets! All are welcome.

Red Cross Blood Drive Aug. 23
There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive Monday, Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Apostolic Christian Church on East Dustman Road in Bluffton.

RoadRunners Wright Patterson trip Aug. 23
The Warren RoadRunners will travel to Wright Patterson Air Force Museum Monday, Aug. 23.
The National Museum of the United States Air Force galleries present military aviation history, boasting more than 400 aerospace vehicles - many rare and one-of-a-kind. Thousands of historical items and powerful sensory exhibits bring history to life.
Those attending will leave at 8:30 a.m. A lunch stop is planned after the visiting the museum. Reservation deadline August 21. All trips leave from the Warren Church of Christ parking lot at 302 N. Wayne St., Warren. Contact Colleen Franklin at (260) 414-0223 for details

Pie Baking Contest at Markle Wildcat
Festival entry
deadline Aug. 25
There will be a Pie Baking Contest held Friday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Markle Fish and Game Park.
There will be a $100 first prize, $50 second prize and $25 third prize.
Rules are: Must be a 9-inch pie; bring a 3"x5" card with recipe, name and address; no pre-made or frozen pies allowed; pie can be any type; pie must be submitted in the pavilion by 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27; pies become property of Wildcat Festival (use non-returnable baking dish); entry free $2 per pie with a limit of two pies.
Judging critera: overall appearance, crust, flavor and texture.
Contest forms must be in by Aug. 25. Send entries to: Jim Gass, 2998W., 1000N., Markle, IN 46770. Enclose $2 per pie entry form. After Aug. 25 fee is $4 per pie.

Monarch butterfly
workshop Aug. 26
On Thursday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. a Monarch Butterfly Workshop will be presented at the Wells County Community Center at the 4-H Park.
Those who attend will learn about the Monarch, where to find them, how to grow them, what they eat and how to care for and attract them.
Advance registration is needed to (260) 824-6412. Those registering will leave the workshop with your own egg or caterpillar and care instructions (while supplies last).
