Jamboree Breakfast Sept. 1
A Jamboree Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Montpelier Lions Club at the corner of High and Jefferson streets. The menu will include sausage gravy and biscuits, hash browns, juice and coffee. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Jamboree Noodle Dinner Sept. 2
A Jamboree Noodle Dinner will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Montpelier Lions Club at the corner of High and Jefferson streets. The menu will include chicken and beef and noodles with all the trimmings. Dine-in or carry-outs are available. A freewill donation will be accepted.

Star Gazing Sept. 8
Another star gazing night has been planned for Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8 p.m. at Lancaster Park (across from Lancaster Central Elementary School).

This program is recommended for adults and children over 8 years old. Cost is $1 each due that night. Please pre-register by e-mailing or calling 824-6069.

Jack Attach fundraiser Sept. 8
Jack Attack, Miracles Happen, fundraiser will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Blackford County 4-H Building in Hartford City.

The fundraiser is being held for Jackson “Jack” Traylor. The nine-year-old is in fourth grade at Northside Elementary School in Hartford City. He has been at Riley Hospital since Aug. 6. The doctors do not know what the cause of his illness is at this time. All proceeds will go toward medical expenses for the Traylor family. His parents are Michelle and Danny Traylor of Hartford City. Michelle is employed at Peyton's Northern in Bluffton.

A motorcycle rideout will start at noon. Cost is $10 per rider and $5 per passenger. Cost includes a meal and bands.

Food will be available and bands will perform beginning at 1 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. There will be children's games, face painting, a bake sale, 50/50 drawing and an auction.

What's up

Wag n' Walk tonight
The Bluffton Parks Department has a special dog event called Wag n’ Walk to be held Wednesday Aug. 29.

Bring the four legged friend out for a walk on the River Greenway starting at 6:30 p.m. and visit with the area pet care providers along the path from Hardees to the little red bridge. (there will be free dog treats and drawings for door prizes)

All pets must be kept on a leash and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. For more information call 824-6069.

Norwell Show Choir chicken fundraiser Sept. 1
Members of the Norwell Show Choir will sponsor a Nelson's Chicken fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Walmart parking lot in Bluffton.

Cost is $6 per half chicken. Pre-sale tickets can be purchased from any Show Choir member or by calling Fritzi Nodine at 260-414-9414. There will be tickets available the day of the event. Proceeds will go to help with travel expenses during this year's competition season.

Joetta Maue Exhibit opens at Arts Place Sept. 6
Sleepers, an exhibit featuring works by Brooklyn, New York fiber artist Joetta Maue, will be on exhibit in the Hugh N. Ronald Gallery at Arts Place, Portland Center from Sept. 6 through Oct. 6. The center is located at 131 East Walnut Street in Portland. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public.

Spike and the Bulldogs to perform in Berne Aug. 24
The Berne Tower Events Committee will sponsor an evening of entertainment Friday, Aug. 24 at Muensterberg Plaza.

There will be a Classic Car Showcase at 7 p.m. followed by a concert featuring Spike and the Bulldogs on the tower stage.

Food will be available for purchase from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the South Adams High School auditorium.

Living History Aug. 25 & 26
Living History: Fort Miamies 1754 - 1763 at the Old Fort, 1201 Spy Run Ave Fort Wayne, will be held Aug. 25 and 26. It will be presented by Historic Fort Wayne, Inc. and Seven Years War, Inc.
Hours are Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Wells County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting will be held at the Wells County 4-H Park at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30. Farm Bureau members should pick up their ticket for the meeting at the Farm Bureau office by August 23.

Register for Fall MusicWorks Classes at Arts Place
Arts Place is currently accepting registrations for fall MusicWorks lessons for students and adults at its facilities in Portland and Hartford City, Indiana and St. Marys, Ohio.

Registration brochures are available at Arts Place, 131 East Walnut Street in Portland, Indiana, the Collective Center at 142 East Spring Street in St. Marys, Ohio, and the Blackford County Arts Center at 107 West Washington Street in Hartford City, Indiana.

Classes begin Sept. 6 and continue through May 17, 2013. All classes meet weekly at Arts Place. Priority registration for the fall ends Aug. 18. After that date, students will be accepted on a space-available basis. Scholarships are available based on financial need. For priority consideration, scholarship requests must be received by Aug. 10. Students may apply, however, for a scholarship at any time.

Decatur to open sculpture walk
Nine original sculptures will be unveiled on Thursday, Aug. 23, at Decatur’s Sculpture Walk on Second Street in the business district. The works are by Indiana artists with four being indoor pieces and the others for outdoor sites. There are a variety of mediums as well as sizes from 20 inches to 10 feet. And although they are for sale they must remain in place until next year’s art event. Artists include Jesse Costello, Fort Wayne; Curtis Rose and Aubris Taylor, Decatur; Larry Wiedman, Huntington and Greg Mendez.

An artist lecture will be held at the Adams Public Library on Thursday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m. and the sculpture unveiling will be at 6 p.m. followed by a Taste of Decatur event.

Visitors may vote for their favorite sculpture with the winner to be announced after Nov. 30. For up to date information on the project check decatursculpturewalk.com

Artists featured at Wabash gallery
Four artists will be featured in the Hoosier Salon Wabash Gallery Exhibit located in the Charley Creek Inn in Wabash.

The artists featured will be Penny French-Deal, paintings; Susan Ring, watercolors; Tom Bartel, sculpures; and Terry Pulley, paintings.

Calvary Lutheran Golf Outing cancelled

The Calvary Lutheran Golf Outing Fundraiser that was planned for Saturday, Aug. 18, has been cancelled. For more information call 260-750-8697.

Pulled pork sandwich fundraiser Aug. 17
Members of Bluffton Athletic Boosters will be selling pulled pork sandwiches for $4 each during the home football game Friday, Aug. 17. Bluffton Tiger garden flags will be available as well for $20 each. Those interested in helping the group can still join the Booster Club.

Boy Scout Fundraiser Aug. 18

Members of Boy Scout Troop 149 of Bluffton will host a fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Tyeger's Pizza Parlour, located at 931 N. Main Street (across from Wendy's).

Proceeds will go to support troop activities and help insure that all boys will be able to attend all outings.

Dam Ride Aug. 19
An Indiana Dam Ride will be held Sunday, Aug. 19, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Truck Stop located at I-69 and State Road 5 in Warren.

Jewelry making class Aug. 21

Concert at Van Wert’s Fountain Park Aug. 10
Friday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. concludes the 2012 Summer Music in Van Wert’s Fountain Park, sponsored by the Van Wert County Foundation in cooperation with the City Parks and Recreation. All concerts are free and open to the public.

It all starts with the music of rock/jazz band Brass Transit at 7 p.m. After the concert, a huge inflatable screen will be set up for a showing of the Pixar/Disney movie, “Toy Story 3.”

Popcorn and refreshments will be available throughout the movie. Food will also be available in Fountain Park before and during the concert

Bee Happy Quilt Show at Wheels Aug. 10-12
The Bee Happy Quilt Show will be held during the Wheels of Yesteryear Tractor Show Aug. 10-12 at the Wells County 4-H Park in Bluffton. Tickets will be available for the raffle quilt. The drawing for the quilt will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12. Prizes for the quilts displayed will be awarded at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Members are asked to pick up their quilts and other items after 2 p.m. on Sunday. Call 824-1463.

Piccadilly Circus Aug. 8-12
The parking lot at the Coliseum in Fort Wayne will be the site of the Big Top for the Piccadilly Circus on Aug. 8-12.

Highlights of the performance will be performing camels, trained elephants, Romanian gymnasts, dancing zebras, motorcycle acts and a circus comedian. Sponsors of the circus also produce Ice Capades. Admissions vary.

Warren RoadRunners Trip Aug. 11
Members of Warren RoadRunners will leave Saturday, Aug. 11, to go to Indianapolis to hear the Hoosier Harmony Quartet.

Cost for the trip is $21 per person. In addition, a love offering will be taken at the performance and the bus will stop for supper on the way there. The bus will leave the Warren Church of Christ parking lot at 3 p.m.
