Science Central offers summer camps
Science Central's 2009 Summer Science camps will start June 8 and run through Aug. 14, 2009. They will include a variety of week-long and day camps including the newest camp focusing on the science of skateboarding and GPS technology.
The camps are available for those ages three through 15. There are also camps specifically designed for middle school and special needs students. For more information call 260-424-2400, ext. 451 or log onto: www.sciencecentral.org.

Covenant Christian School Spring Open House April 16
Bluffton Covenant Christian School Open House will be held Thursday, April 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The school is located one mile South of Scotts grocery. Enrollments for next school year will also be accepted during the open house. For more information call 824-1023.

Jamfest April 18
A Jamfest will be held Saturday, April 18 at the King's Place at 118 W. Market St., Bluffton.
Master of ceremonies will be Stephanie Young. The host band will be Pact.
There will be an open mic for bands, individual musicians, singers, poets and appreciative listeners. Admission is free. Homemade goodies and refreshments will be sold.

Salamonie Reservoir bird extravaganza April 25
Gather for Salamonie Reservoir’s celebration of birds, April 25 at 8 a.m.
The event will include guided bird watching, building a bird feeder, learning about bats and the history of waterfowling. Guest speakers are Jim Haw, Stockbridge Audubon Society; John Salb, Indiana conservation officer; Bob Walton, bat rehabilitator; and Brad Bumgardner, bird bander. Junior Achievement to host Nelson’s Chicken BBQ May 1
Junior Achievement serving Wells County will be hosting a Nelson’s Chicken BBQ on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Villa North Parking Lot (old Sav-A-Lot parking lot across from Wendy’s.)
The cost for dinner is $6 for chicken only and $9 for chicken and Pit-Tatoes.
Pre-sale tickets are available at ProFed, Markle Bank, National City Bank, and Three Rivers Federal Credit Union. All proceeds will benefit Junior Achievement programs in Wells County. This year over 2,000 students will benefit from Junior Achievement programs. For more information contact Tim Babcock at 260-824-5566.

Sacred Hymns
concert May 3
The Mennonite Choral Society, under the direction of Brent Hyman, will present a concert of Sacred Hymns Sunday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the First Mennonite Church.
The concert will include well know hymns rewritten by contemporary composers, hymns of faith, of Christ's suffering and triumph, and a traditional spiritual. Nursery care will be provided and a free will offering will be taken.
The church islocated at the intersection of U.S. 27 and State Road 218 in Berne.

Golf fundraiser
May 9
C&C Bible Fellowship will receive 10 percent of the proceeds of a golf outing fundraiser and food and gas drive Saturday, May 9 at Grey Goose in Decatur.
The rest of the money raised will go to Stillwater Stables to be used to build a new riding stable that will be used for a HIPPA therapeutic horsebakc program and to help off set private riding lessons for low income or disadvantaged children.
There is a need for 144 golfers who are willing to play in the tournament. People can also profit by purchasing a gas/food card to use.

Annual CycleFest in Auburn on May 16
Some 1,200 motorcycles will roar into Auburn Saturday, May 16. The 13th annual event includes a parade through Auburn, a poker run, a Peoples' Choice Bike Show, a bike rodeo, a burn-out cage, and commercial vendors. Good food, a beer garden, and great music will be available.
The event will take place at the Kruse Auction Park, located east of I-69 at CR 11-A. For additional information contact the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival at (260) 925-3600 or visit the www.acdfestival.org Web site.
The entry fee is $15/bike (including up to one passenger). Spectators are $5/person. Non-refundable pre-registrations accepted in the ACD Festival office through May 4.

Golf Scramble for Jerry's Kids June 24
The Northeast Indiana MDA Golf Scramble for Jerry's Kids will be held Wednesday, June 24 at 9 a.m. at Noble Hawk Golf Links at 3005 Noble Hawk Drive, Kendallville. For more information call 260-486-6698.
