April (Snow) Showers Bring Stuff to Do

Trap and Skeet shoot planned for April 12
The South West Conservation Club, located at 5703 Bluffton Road, will sponsor a Trap and Skeet Shoot April 12 and 26 from 12:30 p.m. to close. For more information call 260-747-4677.

Pancake and
sausage breafast April 18
The Monroe Lions Club will host a pancake and sausage breakfast Saturday, April 18 from 7 to 10 a.m. at the 4-H dining hall in Monroe. Breakfast will include all-youcan-eat pancakes, sausage links, applesauce and drinks. A free will donation will be collected at the door. Proceeds will support the projects of the Monroe Lions Club.

Bluegrass event April 19
A Bluegrass event will be held Sunday, April 19 from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at the Southwest Conservation Club at 5703 Bluffton Road.
The opening act will be Gilbert and Company. The main act will be Valerie Smith and the Liberty Pke Bluegrass Band from nashville, Tenn. Cost is a $5 donation. For more information call 260-432-4485.
This will be the last winter jam/meeting until Oct. 18, 2009
We hold a festivals at the Noble County Fairgrounds May 21-24; Sept 3-6. This will be our 20th year at this location.

Singing Auctioneer to perform April 21 at Berne
The Singing Auctioneer will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 at the South Adams Senior Center at 825 Hendricks Street in Berne. The public is welcome to attend the event.

An Evening with Harry Benson April 22
The School of Creative Arts at the Univeristy of Saint Francis will host “An Evening with Harry Benson” April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the North Campus Auditorium at 2702 Spring Street, Fort Wayne. He will share his photographic experiences and technical expertise through the Canon Explorers of Light program. Call 260-434-3100.
Senior luncheon April 22
The South Adams Senior Center luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 22, at noon. The meal will be catered by Preble Gardens and the menu consists of swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, dinner roll, butter, assorted pies, coffee and punch. The cost of the meal is $5 per person and door prizes will be given away. Paula Linn, pianist, will furnish the entertainment. Please call 589-8877 to sign up and the deadline is Monday, April 20.

Town Hall for Hope broadcast April 23
Those living in Wells County can listen to Dave Ramsey Thurday, April 23 at 8 p.m. EDT/7 p.m. as he broadcasts live his message “Town Hall for Hope” at Park UB Church located at 617 S. Bennet St. in Bluffton.
Ramsey, a nationally syndicated radio talk show host and best selling author, will broadcast a nationwide town hall meeting to discover what's happening with the economy, how we got here and where we are going. The town meeting will be broadcasted to nearly 3,000 locations across the country. Children’s group to sing at Arts Place April 25
The Colorado Children’s Chorale will perform at Arts Place’s Portland Center at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Hall-Moser Theatre as part of the Arts Place 2008-09 Performance Series, That’s Entertainment.
Arts Place’s Portland Center is located at 131 E. Walnut St., Portland. Tickets are $16 for adults and $8 for students. Group rates are available. Tickets are available at the box office, by phone at 260-726-4809, or online at www.artsland.org.

Bowling Tournament in Hartford City
April 25
The Blackford County 4-H Fairboard will sponsor a Bowling Tournament Saturday, April 25 at 3 p.m. at Northside Lanes in Hartford City. Anyone interested can call 765-348-3213 by April 15, 2009. Northside Lanes is located on State Road 3, just north of Hartford City.
