Wet Wacky Wednesday July 3

The pool will be open Wednesday, July 3 for an evening family swim from 6:30-8 p.m. Cost is $1.50 per person over age five. 

All youth must be accompanied by an adult. 

Future dates include: July 10,17, 24 and Aug 7. 

Concessions & Bake Sale at city’s 4th celebration

Concessions at the city’s 4th of July celebration will be available from C & E Concessions and  Fat John’s Hot Dogs (John Dobson)  

Also available for purchase will be baked goods as arranged for by Carley Marcum, who is working toward a Gold Award for Girl Scouts (the equivalent of Boy Scout’s Eagle rank).

The bake sale will help raise money for her project of installing a flag pole and memory plaza at Fairview Cemetery to honor all of the veterans buried there. (At present no such memorial is featured at the cemetery.) Her fundraising goal is $4,000.

C & E Concessions will offer ice cream and apple dumplings while Fat John’s will offer hot dogs, nachos, sausage,  beverages (pop and water) and popcorn.

Pokemon event in Indy July 5-7

During the week of July 5-7 the 2013 Pokemon U.S. National Championships will be held in Indianapolis at the Convention Center. 

The event is free to the public to participant in contests. To learn more about the event check out www.pokemon.com/play The event will begin on Friday, July 5, at 9 a.m. with the championship to begin on Saturday, July 6, at 9 a.m.
