Bluffton Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays
The Farmer’s Market is open at the Dutch Mill Plaza (Main Street at the bridge) on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
Current features include baked goods, fresh roasted coffee, green beans, red beets, potatoes, kohlrabi, blueberries and black raspberries, creative cards, wood ornaments, puzzles, and more. (Pd. Advt.)
Wet Wacky Wednesday July 24
The pool will be open Wednesday, July 24, for an evening family swim from 6:30-8 p.m. Cost is $1.50 per person over age five.
All youth must be accompanied by an adult.
Donations being accepted for James Holly
James “Jim Bob” Holly is suffering from throat cancer. Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation to the family to help with expenses may do so by taking it to Professional Federal Credit Union at 1331 Baker Place in Bluffton.
Jim Bob, age 51, has played in numerous bands over the years. He and his wife Michelle live on Westfield Drive in Bluffton.
Friday night concerts at FW’s botanical gardens
This will be the eighth year for the Fort Wayne Botanical Conservatory to sponsor a Friday evening concert series on the Terrace Garden.
July 26—Roots Rocks Society with reggae opening group of TRIAAC Jenbe Ensemble
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the opening group starting at 8:30 p.m. Those attending should bring their own chairs and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is $6 for those 13 and older and free to those 12 and under.
Quilt show at Berne high school July 25-27
A Quilt Show and Merchants Mall will be held at Berne’s Spith Adams School Cafeteria from July 25-27, as part of Berne Swiss Days. Hours on Thursday will be from 6 to 8 p.m.; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturay. There is a $3 admission charge.
Berne Swiss days parade on July 27
The Berne Swiss Days parade will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 6 p.m. in downtown Berne.
Parade Marshals are the Nick Taylor Family. Following the parade the Hank Haller Ensemble will entertain beginning at 7 p.m. and the Tower JAM-Fest at the Muensterberg Plaza & Clock Tower will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Zoo’s Educator Appreciation Night July 31
Area educators and homeschool parents are invited to an evening of education, exploring and fun as the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo holds the annual Educator Appreciation Night on Wednesday, July 31, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Participants will enjoy behind-the-scenes tours, mini-workshops and special activities as they learn about zoo animals and the many school programs offered by the zoo.
Teachers can receive three Professional Growth Plan (PGP) points. Admission is free with a pre-registration.
