Members of the Kitco Lady Retirees met for lunch Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Corner Depot Restaurant in Bluffton.
Those attending were: Maxine Martin, Nancy Barton, Jean Kipfer, RoseMary Helm, Pat Turner, Alla Davis, Joyce Booker, Gloria Riveros, Barbara Wolf and Nancy Betts.
Poplar Grove
Members of Poplar Home Ec Club meet Sept. 9 at Corner Depot in Bluffton for their monthly meeting and luncheon.
President Jerry Shaw opened with the Welcome and the thought of the month entitled “I've Learned it is Impossible to Teach without Learning Something Yourself.”
Hostesses were Maxine Schenkel and Ruth Hedges. Inspirational devotions were given by Jean Sturgeon. She read a variety of inspirational quotes. Members sang the table grace.
The business meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. Members sang the song of the month entitled “You're a Grand Old Flag.”
Roll call was answered by members naming their favorite fair food.
The minutes and treasurer's reports were read and approved.
Happy birthday was sung to one person. Mary Jane Park reported about the Fort Wayne District meeting. Her topic was “Do you hear what I hear?” She also gave the itinerary for the October 14th trip to Muncie. President Jerry announced that Molly Hoag is the new Wells County Home Extension Educator. Jerry also asked for volunteers for Street Fair.
Upcoming events are: Fall Program Fair Sept. 29 at the 4-H Community Building and the Frozen Food and Vegetable Sale: Sept. 22.
Mona Jean Highlen won the door prize. The meeting was closed by members reading the “Collect.”
