Trap and Skeet Shoot July 12
South West Conservation, located at 5703 Bluffton Road, will sponsor Trap and Skeet Shoot July 12 and 26 from 12:30 p.m. to close. It is open to the public Call 260-747-4677.

Chuck Wicks to perform at July 13
Country artist Chuck Wicks will perform July 13 during the Three Rivers Festival in Fort Wayne. The concert is open to the public. Gates will open at 6 p.m. Love and Theft will be one of the opening acts along with Shiloh. Tickets are $10 in advance or $13 at the door without a button. Those ages 12 and under are free. Annual YFC Golf
Classic Deadline July 9
The deadline for team enrollment for the annual Youth for Christ Golf Classic fundraiser is drawing near. All teams, hole and cart sponsorships must be turned into the YFC office by Thursday July 9. The 2009 tournament will be held on July 14 at the Golf Club of the Limberlost in Geneva, Indiana.
The tournament features an 18 hole round Scramble on a closed course with lunch, awards and prizes. There will also a featured speaker, national YFC Board member and local State Senator Travis Holdman, along with an update on the Adams, Blackford, Grant, Jay, and Wells YFC ministry. This event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 am and at 1 pm (if second flight is needed) with lunch in-between at noon.

Smokey Bear's Birthday Bash
July 10 & 11
Drive out for the day or camp at Salamonie Reservoir near Wabash and Andrews for Smokey Bear's Birthday Bash July 10 and 11.
On Friday, July 10 there will be a family movie at 8:30 p.m. at the program shelter in the modern campground.
Events for Saturday, July 11 include making birthday decorations at 5:30 p.m.; making parade decorations at 6 p.m.; Smokey's parade at 6:45 p.m. and the birthday bash at 7 p.m. with cookies, punch and ice cream.

Car, Truck and Tractor Show July 11
A Benefit Burnout Contest and Car, Truck and Tractor show will be held Saturday, July 11 at Hoagland Community Park.
Car show registration will begin at 3 p.m. Juding will start at 5 p.m. and awards will be given at 7 p.m.
Registration for the Burn Out Contest will start at 6 p.m. The competition will begin at 7 p.m.
There will be a live dj, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and more. Concessions will be available all day.

Lavender Daze July 11 & 12
Lavender Daze will be held July 11 and 12 at Carolee's Herb Farm, located three miles south of Hartford City and one mile west of Highway 3. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Admission and parking are free, and there is no charge for lectures or tours.
