What's Up (besides the 4-H Fair)

Madonna of Humility by Kim Anderson on display
The Garden in the Altar, a collection of works by Hartford City ceramic artist Kim Anderson, will be on display in the Hugh N. Ronald Gallery at the Portland Center from July 13 through Aug. 20. Gallery hours at the Portland Center are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 to 5 p.m.
An artist reception will take place on Tuesday, July 28 from 5 to 6 p.m. in conjunction with the Region Five Grant Awards Ceremony and Reception.
Small Worlds, an exhibit featuring photography by area artists Jerry Smith and Mary Jo Knoch will continue through August 17, 2009 at Arts Place's Collective Center, located at 138 East Spring Street in St. Marys, Ohio. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 8 p.m.

Trebuchet Competition July 15

Fundraiser/Garage Sale July 17 & 18
A fundraiser and garage sale will be held for Conley Shane Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 18 at 824 S. Marion Street in Bluffton. All proceeds will go to pay Conley's medical bills. Cash donations are welcome.

Birthday Bash at Mississinewa

Drive out for the day or camp at Mississinewa Reservoir near Peru for Smokey Bear's Birthday Bash July 17 and 18. On Friday, July 17 there will be a family movie at 8:30 p.m. at the program shelter in the modern campground. Events for Saturday, July 18 include making birthday decorations at 5:30 p.m.; making parade decorations at 6 p.m.; Smokey's parade at 6:45 p.m. and the birthday bash at 7 p.m. with cookies, punch and ice cream.
