Creative Arts Centre Events

IN THE BALENTINE GALLERY
Caribbean Paintings by GLenda Jones, July 17-Aug. 30.
Opening reception and artists talk by Glenda Jones on Friday, July 17, 6 to 8 p.m. No admission charge. Guest artist Laurel Steffen will also display her collection of African jewelry during the Caribbean exhibit.
SCHOOL OF BALLET
BALLET CAMP—Three sessions instructed by Jeni Meeks; for ages 3 1/2 to six at 9 to 9:30 a.m., $25; for new students 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., $35; and refresher for currently enrolled students at 10:30 to noon, $45. July 20-24.
FALL CLASSES—will begin in September. Registrations welcome! Ask for a registration packet to be mailed in August.

EVENTS.
OUTDOOR SUMMER SHOWCASE—Register an art project (full size garbage can) for the Outdoor Summer Showcase, $2, at the CAC.
KEHOE CONCERTS—Eight Days a Week Beatles Tribute Band on Sunday, July 26, 7 p.m., free. Popcorn and pop and JBG’s Ice Cream available for purchase. Rain site the Life Center in Bluffton.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
DRAWING CAMP—Aug. 3-7, 11 a.m. to noon for ages 7, 8 & 9 or 1 to 2 p.m. for ages 10, 11 & 12+. Work with edges, spaces, relationships. lights & shadows, Gestalt.
BATIK—July 20, 22, 23, 1 to 3 p.m. for kids and 6 to 8 p.m. for adults with instructor Katie Vanderkolk.
HUMMINGBIRD FEEDER WORKSHOP—Tuesday, July 28, with Carol Riley, 6:30 to 8 p.m., $10, Requires registration by July 27th. Great “together” time for adult and child.
PRIVATE ART LESSONS—Enroll now for private art lessons with Katie Vanderkolk for an hour a week, $60 during July and August.

CULINARY ARTISTS—Thursday, July 16, to visit Aunt Sue’s Tea Room in Marion and Quilters Hall of Fame, required registration, $22. Next tour Thursday, Aug. 13, to Toscani’s Pizzeria in Fort Wayne and Castle Gallery exhibit. Required registration by Aug. 10, $3 (cost of lunch on your own).
