Fright Night and other events at FW’s Old Fort
Lantern Tours will be held at Fort Wayne’s Old Fort on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $2 with those under 12 admitted free with an adult.
Buildings at the fort include the commanding officer’s house, the hospital, south blockhouse, the village area, officers’ quarters as well as the post garden and main gate.
The grounds of the Old Fort are a city park and visitors are welcome to explore them at any time. During special events the buildings are open to the public.
The fort is a reconstruction of the fort as it was in 1816 when Major John Whistler was in command. It was decommissioned on April 19, 1819.
Amish Business Luncheon, Oct. 28
The 2014 Amish Business Luncheon will be held at D.L. Schwartz and will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Space is limited.
Cost is $15 per person. This includes a tour of D.L. Schwartz and lunch.
