FCC Trunk and Treat Oct. 31
Members of the First Church of Christ at 909 W. Spring St. in Bluffton will host a Trunk and Treat Night Friday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. Available will be treats and a meal. The event will be indoors.
Boo In Bluffton Oct. 31
Trick-or-treaters are encouraged to visit downtown businesses as well as City Hall in Bluffton between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and the businesses outside the central business district between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. for Boo in Bluffton on Friday, Oct. 31. Last year, nearly 1,000 children visited City Hall in that single hour. Activities will also be held at the City Gym during those hours. Trick-or-Treat hours in Bluffton are between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.
Helping Hands to dedicate Bereavement brick Nov. 1
Helping Hands PRC will dedicate a Bereavement brick at the Angel of Hope Memorial Park on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. (near Hardee’s). The brick is being dedicated in memory of babies who have been lost due to still birth or death after birth. A brief service will include a song and short message of hope. Come find support from a group acknowledging your baby’s life and passing.
Montpelier Friends of Library Silent Auction begins Nov. 3
The Montpelier Friends of the Library will sponsor their annual Silent Auction of theme baskets at the library, beginning Nov. 3 through Nov. 18. Bids will be announced after 6 p.m. on Nov. 18. Refreshments will be served.
Tot Post Office Tour Nov. 4
The Bluffton Parks Department special tot event held on Tuesday, Nov. 4 will be a tour of the Bluffton Post Office.
Those attending should meet in the Bluffton city gym at 11 a.m. The group will walk over around 11:15 a.m.
This is a FREE drop in event for any age child that is available at this time.
Also, the gym is open every Tuesday and Thursday (October-March) from 11 a.m. to noon for kids to run and play with parent supervision. For more information call 824-6069.
Holiday Arts and Craft Show in Portland Nov. 8
Xi Chapter of Delta Theta Tau is planning their 30th annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Jay County High School at 2072 Highway 67, Portland from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $2 per person. Children age 12 and under are free.
A wide variety of craft dealers will set up displays. Xi Chapter members will sponsor a bake sale. A luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sandwiches and dessert will be available in the afternoon.
Proceeds from the show will be used to fund the many philanthropic projects Xi Chapter contributes to in the community throughout the year. Projects include: scholarships awarded to graduating seniors; help for deserving families; Gift of the Heart (Jay County High School) and a dental and medical health program available through the Jay County Schools.
Xi Chapter also supports the Youth Service Bureau, many youth clubs and teams, Jay County Cancer Society, Arts Place, and many more deserving projects.
