Girls Scouts Fall Party Oct. 24
Wells County Girl Scouts will host a Community Fall Party Friday, Oct. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the hog barn at the Wells County 4-H Park in Bluffton. Cost is $2 per person.
There will be a costume contest, a silent auction and games. Food available will include chili and hot dogs at 6:30 p.m.

Gary Dickson benefit Oct. 25
A benefit for Bluffton resident Gary Dickson will be held Saturday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the WalMart parking lot. He will undergo a bone marrow transplant in Michigan very soon.
Sark’s Concessions will be open to raise money for Gary. Sark’s Concessions will donate all products so every purchase made will go directly to Gary and Barb Dickson for housing, transportation, food and medical cost during their extended stay. 
This will be a time to show support and enjoy fair favorites one last time before winter sets in. (Pd. Advt.).

SA Senior Center Craft Bazaar Oct. 25
The South Adams Senior Center will sponsor their Fall Craft Bazaar Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 825 Hendricks Street in Berne. Items available will include handmade crafts, fall and Christmas arrangements, Amish baked items, candles, handbags, t-shirts, greeting cards and more. Lunch will be available. Admission is free.

NCGLNAC Fall event Oct. 25 & 26
The National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture, Inc. (NCGLNAC) will sponsor their Fall Friendship Fire Celebration Oct. 25 and 26 at the Women’s Building at the Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, followed by opening circle at 9 a.m. Saturday’s lunch is self provided. The Saturday evening feast will be at 6 p.m. Registration fee is $20 per person for NCGLNAC members and $30 for non-members. It includes all activities and the Saturday evening meal. 
Camping is available at the Fairgrounds for $15 per night (electricity) or primitive for $10 per night. RV dump station and water fill is available. Please include the camping fee with your registration. 
This is an event where NCGLNAC members and friends can learn traditional Native ways, keeping the fire, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. Call Kay  at 765-426-3022 or kay.neumayr@ncglnac.com to be a fire keeper.
Highlights for the weekend include hiking on the NCGLNAC trail, keeping the fire, completing unfinished projects from earlier cultural arts classes, a rawhide rattle class, dinner Saturday evening prepared by Linda Prather and family, roundtable discussions and community with other participants around the fire. 

Pork Chop and Pork Burger Dinner Oct. 26
The Blackford County 4-H Fair will sponsor a Pork Chop and Pork Burger Dinner Sunday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the 4-H building at 310 Park Ave. in Hartford City.
Cost is $8 for the pork chop dinner or $6 for the pork burger dinner.

Calvary Lutheran Fall Festival Oct. 26
Calvary Lutheran Church in Bluffton will sponsor a Community Fall Festival Sunday, Oct 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be a Trunk-or-Treat, games, costume contest and free refreshments. Calvary Lutheran is located directly across from the Willowbrook entrance at 1532 N. Main Street. Call 824-0177.

Toastmasters Club 159 to celebrate 90th anniversary
On Oct. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Toastmaster Club 159 will celebrate Toastmasters International 90th anniversary.
Club 159 meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Lutheran Hospital (Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne) in Special Function Room 2 in the cafeteria in the lower level at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend the meeting.

Zanesville Lions free library
The Zanesville Lions free library is open 24 hours a day. Participants may take up to three books per visit per person. Take them home, bring them back to trade, or share them with family and friends. Donated books and returns should be put in a tub provided at the library. This is a community project of the Lions Club. The library is located at 3088 W. Van Horn St.

Zanesville Halloween Party Oct. 27
The Zanesville Lions Community Halloween Party will be held Monday, Oct. 27, at the clubhouse at the ballpark. All ages are welcome to attend. Costume judging is at 6:30 p.m. sharp with cash prizes. All children will receive free treat bags. After the judging free bingo and food will be offered.
