American Legion Auxiliary selling candles
American Legion Auxiliary Unit 111 in Bluffton has begun a fundraiser selling candles made at Bi County Services. 
All proceeds will go to the programs Unit 111 sponsors throughout the year and to programs specifically designated for veterans and military families. Orders will be taken through the month of October with delivery expected before Thanksgiving. 
To order, you may contact an Auxiliary member or leave a message at the Legion at 824-3815 and a member will return the call. In addition those interested in purchasing candles can  call the Auxiliary president, Cheryl Mann at 260-307-3360.

Kinder Haus BBQ Chicken Dinner Oct. 10
Swiss Village’s Kinder Haus Day Care will host a Drive-Thru Chicken Dinner Fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 10 from 4–6 p.m. Tickets will be sold by pre-sale only. 
The Dinner will include Romers half chicken, applesauce, potato chips, and dinner roll with butter.
Tickets can be purchased for $7 at the Swiss Village front desk, The Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion or Kinder Haus Day Care through Oct. 3.
Dinners can be picked up at the Swiss Village circle drive entrance on Oct. 10 from 4– 6 p.m.  
All proceeds will go directly to the Kinder Haus Day Care Endowment Fund.  For more information please call 260-589-3173.

Bake Sale in Montpelier Oct. 10
The Montpelier Friends of the Library will sponsor a fall Bake Sale on Friday, Oct. 10 in the lobby at Citizens Bank.   The sale will begin at 9 a.m.

Warren UCC Homecoming Service Oct. 12
Members of Warren United Church of Christ will sponsor Homecoming 2014 on Saturday, Oct. 12.
Wroship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. with Ked Moser performing. A carry-in dinner will be held following the service.
The church is located at 202 E. Second Street in Warren. The public is welcome to attend the event.

Historical Society meeting Oct. 13
The fall meeting of the Wells County Historical Society will be Monday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at the museum. Richard Stroud will talk about his experiences during the Atomic Testing area during the 1950s. Refreshments will be served. 
The public is welcome to attend the event. A free will offering will be taken during the meeting. For more information call 273-1742.

Fossil Show and Sale Oct. 17
The 53rd annual Three Rivers Gem, Mineral, Jewelry and Fossil Show and Sale will be held Oct. 17-19 at the Allen County 4-H Fairgrounds in the Home and Family Arts building.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for those age 55 and older, $1 for high school students and free for children age 12 and younger. Free parking is available.
