Ouabache State Park Events

Ouabache's interpretive programs are family oriented. Parents and children are encouraged to attend activities together. An adult should accompany children under the age of 10. In the case of inclement weather, all hikes and programs on the pool lawn will meet at the Campview Shelter. Schedule subject to change.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2
7:30 p.m. - Turtle Trek. Enjoy a stroll around the lake as we talk about some of the turtles found in Indiana. Hike meets at the Boat House. Tennis shoes and bug spray are recommended for this hike.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3
7:30 p.m. - Healing Herbs. Herbal remedies have been used for many centuries. Meet at Rustic Oak Shelter to learn more about herbs healing properties.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4
8:00 p.m. - The Little Green Bug. You’ve seen the signs. You’ve read the policies. Now find out why Emerald Ash Borer is such a big deal. Meet at Campview Shelter.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
9:30 a.m. - Advanced Origami. Paper folding just go a little more difficult! We’ll be creating intermediate and challenging creation during this morning workshop. Cost is $2 per person program fee. Pre-registration required by Aug. 31. This program is recommended for individuals ages 10 and up. Young children may need adult assistance. All children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Workshop meets at Campview Shelter.
11-11:30 a.m. - Hoosier Quest. Connect! Discover! Explore! Learn more about the patch program at the Campview Shelter, located in the middle of Campground A. After a brief introduction, we'll break up into groups to start working on the requirements. This is the LAST weekend to work on Hoosier Quest at Ouabache State Park this year! Scouts and other groups, are you interested in earning a patch? See the Naturalist to learn about the Hoosier Pathfinder program.
1:45 p.m. - Pool Break Cool Craft. Create your own owl hooter on the pool lawn today with Naturalist Kate! Swimmers, make sure you get your hand stamped so you can easily re-enter the pool!
8:30 p.m. - Whooo Are You? These flying tigers of the night are extraordinary. Learn more about the owls you might hear at Ouabache at Rustic Oak Shelter. Afterwards, stick around as Naturalist Kate attempts to call these magnificent birds in.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
9:30 a.m. - Worship Services. Join us at Campview Shelter for an inspirational service in the beauty of nature.
11-11:30 a.m. - Hoosier Quest. See Saturday for details.
1:45 p.m. - Pool Break Creature Feature. Meet one of Ouabache’s insects during today’s pool break on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you get your hand stamped so you can easily re-enter the pool!

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
9:30 a.m. - Symbol of America. Join us at Campview Shelter for an inspirational story of our nation’s symbol, the bald eagle.
11-11:30 a.m. - Hoosier Quest. See Saturday for details.
1:45 p.m. - Pool Break Tug of War. Test your strength during today’s pool break on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you get your hand stamped so you can easily re-enter the pool!
