Great night of music at Niswonger Performing Arts Center with Poco, Pure Prairie league and Firefall bringing us all back in time.

Having seen all three bands previously over the past few years, there were no surprises for me.

Poco led things off with a fine set, including Call It Love, Rose Of Cimmaron, A Good Feeling To Know and Crazy Love. Very enjoyable, easy going tunes for the most part with some nice harmonies. Nothing spectacular, but a solid set by the veterans. Poco is led by Rusty Young and Paul Cotton.

The pace picked up with Pure Prairie League, who continue to amaze. A very vibrant, energetic band, PPL has put on some red hot shows the last several years and this one was no different.Of all the 70's acts I've been to, no one does it better than The League with their superb pickin' ,scorching guitar work and outstanding pedal steel. Two Lane Highway, I'm Almost Ready, K.C Southern all rocked the crowd as the band deftly moved from high energy rockers to mid tempo tunes flawlessly, a very tight unit. And , of course, there is Amie, the ultimate country rock tune that is still on playlists all over the country today. This song brought out the loudest burst of energy from the crowd all night, no surprise there.Craig Fuller is in spectacular form and the presence of Mike Reilly, who showed some great vocals on several tunes, put PPL over the top. The band also played a few songs from All In Good Time, their wonderful release from a few years ago. All in all, another big night for The Prairie. Too bad they couldn't have performed a longer set, but I guess with three bands there are time limitations.

Firefall played exactly what you would expect, a number of their hits including You Are The Woman and Just Remember I Love You. The band is led by Jock Bartley, and, while it too was quite pleasing to the ear,I would have preferred the night end with an extended set by PPL.
