Music Class for Toddlers

Busy young families can make music a relaxing, fun part of their lifestyles with toddler music programs at the Creative Arts Center, 211 Water St. in Bluffton as instructor Cindy Lemmen, MS, offers “Jungle Jazz,” 10 weekly toddler times on Mondays from Sept. 15 through Nov. 8, from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
The young participants and their adult friend (Mom, Dad, grandparent or caregiver) will learn about musical sound imitation, rhythm, social skills and listening skills as they are encouraged to explore the jungle with singing, movement, rhythm instruments, guitar, rhyming stories, puppets and even craft ideas to make at home together. The curriculum is based on the award winning music educator Lynn Kleiner’s “Jungle Beat.”
Instructor Lemmen began her musicality as a toddler and by the time she was a senior in high school she was teaching music to others. She continued her interest in music as she earned an MS degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina. During the past six years she has formalized her knowledge of teaching music to young children and their adult friends in a program titled “Rhapsody, Rhythm & Rhyme.
Enrollment includes a CD, rhythm instrument and folder for each child. Cost fee for both the child and adult attending is $64. Sibling may tag along for a discounted rate of $56. Registration by Sept. 10 is required to the CAC office at (260) 825-5222 or by email to cac@adamswells.com
