Club News

Kitco Lady Retirees
Members of the Kitco Lady Retirees met Wednesday, Aug. 19 at the Corner Depot.
Those attending were: Rose Mary Helm, Phyllis Brown, Nancy Barton, Barbara Wolf, Gloria Riveros, Jean Kipfer, Pat Turner, Nancy Betts, Alla Davis, Joyce Booker, Shirley Lamont, Joan Kelly, Juanita Hammock, and Kathron Minnich.

J.I.O. Circle
Members of the J.I.O. Circle of the First Reformed Church met Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in Rider Lounge with hostess Irma Redding and Betty Watters in charge of the program.
Mrs. Jan (Alice) Curry gave an interesting genealogy program, "Where's Grandma?" She stated that Ellis Island was not the only place immigrants came to enter the U.S., so all records were not there.
Patty Moser gave Matthew 11:28 and read an article, "Burdens on Our Back."
The business meeting was conducted by Patty. The secretary and treasurer's reports were given. Susan Dunn gave the card report.
The women's breakfast will be held on Thursday, Sept. 17. There will be no meeting in September because of Street Fair.
Those attending were: Donna Breedlove, Alice Curry, Louise Deihl, Susan Dunn, Mary Alice Jackson, Joanne Miller, Patty Moser, Jerry Shaw, Jean Sturgeon, Betty Watters Pauline Zoll, and Irma Redding.

O.D.O. Club
The O.D.O. Extension Homemaker's Club met at Corner Depot Aug. 19. Leah Teeple was the hostess.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and the Homemaker's Creed were recited by the members. It was led by president Joyce Hacker. She also read the thought of the month entitled “I've learned that it is easier to say out of trouble than to get out of trouble.” Leah Teeple read a reading called "Hugs."
Roll call was answered by 11 members with naming your favorite picnic food.
Lois Biberstein read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved as read.
A break was then taken for a delicious meal of ones' choice and a piece of pie compliments of Leah our hostess. After the meal, Lois Biberstein read a devotional piece on "Love."
Last minute arrangements were discussed by the girls going to Camp Mack on Aug. 27. The Purdue Christmas Show trip was discussed and the girls wanting to go should get their reservations by Sept. 1. Coins for friendship were collected. The Wheels of Yesteryear fish and chicken supper were discussed and thanking the girls who helped out.
Happy anniversary to Rolland and Judy Myers on Aug. 23.
A reminder that the club will clean the kitchen at the 4-H Park on Oct. 6.
"The Happy Wanderer", the song of the month, was sung by all. A big thank you to Leah Teeple for hosting this month's meeting.
The next meeting will be Sept. 23 at Corner Depot at 6:30 p.m. with Sharlene Warthman hosting.
