Connor Whitesell Fundraiser May 9
Mother's Day flowers will be sold, along with a bake sale Saturday, May 9 at Villa North parking lot. Proceeds will go toward the Connor Whitesell family.
Along with the flowers and baked goods, t-shirts and Connor signs will be available for sale. Direct donations will also be accepted during the event. Call 824-2820 for more information.

May Day Bird Count Saturday
On the second Saturday in May each year the Audubon Society sponsors the Big May Day Bird Count.
On Saturday, May 9, birders from all over the state will report the number of each species of birds they see that day. Wells County compiler is Kathy Fuller at 1111 Orchard Circle in Bluffton. Her phone number is 824-4525.

Homemaker's
Festival May 21
The Wells County Extension Homemakers will hold their year end celebration Thursday, May 21 during the Homemaker's Festival at the Wells Community Building in Bluffton. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. The program will start at 6 p.m. with a dinner. The menu will include: Chicken Cordon Bleu, cheesy potatoes, honey glazed carrots, salad, rolls, choice of beverages and desserts (Texas Sheet Cake or Pineapple Sheet Cake.)
Celebrations taking place will be choral numbers by the Wells County Chorus. They will honor 90 year old members, 50 year club members, memorial service for deceased members, new members joining during the past year, installation of new officers and voting for the Cultural Art Exhibit that will be taken for state competition. The theme for the evening is “Picnic in the Park.” The program is being planned by JT-5 Club. The food will be prepared by the UYB Club. Reservations are needed by Monday, May 11. Cost is $10. Those wanting to attend can write a check to Wells County Extension Homemakers and send it to Janice Walker at 2672W--900S., Poneto, IN 46781-9610.
