Bluffton Farmers Market held on
Saturdays
One can find a variety of plants, flowers, crafts and food items at the Bluffton Farmers’ Market, located at the Washington Commons on Wednesday nights from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday Mornings from 8 a.m. to noon.

Master Garden
Plant and Seed Sale May 16
The Wells County Master Gardeners will hold an annual and perennial plant and seed sale Saturday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Farmer's Market located east of the Wells County Public Library in Bluffton. All proceeds will go to the Wells County Master Gardeners program.

Free concert in the park May 16
Park United Brethren Church will sponsor a free concert in the park Saturday, May 16 at Washington Park in Bluffton, located on South Bennett Street. There will be free food and games from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The concert, featuring Brent A. Free Women's Self Defense Class
May 16
A Free Women’s Self Defense Class will be held Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon in the City Gym for ladies age 14 and up.
Students will learn pressure point techniques to defend themselves from attackers and receive self defense sticks. Those interested in participating must call 824-6069 to register by May 15.

Swim Lesson
Registration May 16
The Bluffton Parks and Recreation Swim Lesson registration will be held Saturday, May 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Wells Community Swimming Pool. Lessons are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in June or July for three weeks for students who have completed Kindergarten and older.
New Tot swim is for children age four to pre kindergarten for three Saturday lessons in July from 11 to 11:45 a.m. with a parent. Cost for any swim lesson is $5.50 per child. Call 824-6069.

Half day summer kids camp planned
A half day summer kids camp for children finishing Kindergarten through third grade will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon.
Students will receive an hour gymnastic lesson, an hour tennis lesson, free play and snack, and an hour of swim lesson. Cost is $30 for June 8-26 or July 6-24. Call to register at 824-6069. Limited enrollment.

CAC spring ballet performance May 17
The Creative Arts Council School of Ballet annual spring performance will be held at the Life Center Auditorium at 428 S. Oak Street, Bluffton, Sunday, May 17 at 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Audience members are encouraged to relax and enjoy the program. It will be a satirical story danced by young and local talent. CAC's ballerinas will be dancing in “Gala Performance” in which four ballerinas (Russian, Italian, French and American) strive to outperform each other. Prepare to be humored and impressed during this event featuring students at all levels of skills and learning in the classical dance art form! Steven Higgs to speak May 17 in Montpelier
Steven K. Higgs, former minister of the Montpelier Church of Christ, will be guest speaker at the church on Sunday, May 17.
Since Steve and his wife Carol left Montpelier, he has been deeply involved in Prison Evangelism in Illinois. This program depends entirely upon the support of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ (independent). In June, Steve will celebrate 35 years of serving in full-time Prison Evangelism.
The public is welcome to attend services at 10:30 a.m. at the Montpelier Church of Christ, 206 West Huntington Street on May 17 and learn of some of his experiences through those years of trying to lead imprisoned men to Christ. A carry-in dinner will follow the morning Worship Hour.

Wick's Bus Tour
May 21
The Bluffton Parks Department in cooperation with Life Church will be host a Bus Tour May 21, 2009 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The tour will include a stop at Wick’s Pie Factory, Silver Towne and Ghyslain’s Chocolate Factory. Cost is $15. Lunch will be on your own at Mrs. Wicks Restaurant.
