Homemaker's Bus Trip taking reservations
The Wells County Extension Homemakers are sponsoring a three day bus trip to southern Indiana June 24-26. The trip will include visits to Lincoln boyhood sites, French Lick and West Baden. Prices vary and single-quad occupancy. For more information call Carol Baker at 260-622-7422. (5/4)

Happy Hour Luncheon May 14
Happy Hour will be back at the First Presbyterian Church on Dustman Road May 14 at noon. There will be music, fun and entertainment.

The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a bake sale at Wal-mart Saturday May 9 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m.

Taco Heaven open May 9
King's Highway Tabernacle Taco Heaven will be open Saturday, May 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bluffton Body and Repair at 804 W. Wabash Street, Bluffton.

Pain Support Group meeting May 11
C&C Bible Fellowship will sponsor a free CAPS (Combat Against Pain Support) support group meeting Monday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m. at 4383S-150E, Berne.

Bake Sale May 15 at Montpelier
The Montpelier Friends of the Library will be sponsor a bake sale on Friday, May 15, at Pacesetter Bank beginning at 9 a.m.

Pork & sauerkraut supper May 16
The Ossian United Methodist Church will sponsor a pork and sauerkraut supper Saturday, May 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Family Fellowship Center at 201 W. Mill Street in Ossian.
The menu will include pork and sauerkraut, real mashed postatoes and gravy, green beans or carrots, applesauce, pie or cake, coffee, milk, iced tea or water.
Tickets in advance are $7 for adults, $3.50 for children ages five to 10 and free for children under age five. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults, $4 for children. Carry outs will be available.

Pancake and sausage breakfast May 16
The South Adams Senior Center will be host a pancake and sausage breakfast Saturday, May 16 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Lehman Park Pavilion in Berne.
This event will be sponsored by the Board of Directors of the South Adams Senior Center and proceeds from the event will go for upkeep, activities, and operating expenses for the Senior Center. Donations will be accepted for the breakfast.
The menu will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce, orange juice and coffee.

Master Gardent Plant and Seed Sale May 16
The Wells County Master Gardeners will hold an annual and perennial plant and seed sale Saturday, May 16 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Farmer's Market located east of the Wells County Public Library in Bluffton.
All proceeds will go to the Wells County Master Gardeners program.

Free concert in the park May 16
Park United Brethren Church will sponsor a free concert in the park Saturday, May 16 at Washington Park in Bluffton, located on South Bennett Street.
There will be free food and games from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The concert, featuring Brent A. Cooper (Memories of The King), from 5 to 7 p.m.

Huntington Senior Expo May 21
The fifth annual Huntington County Senior Expo will be held Thursday, May 21 at the Huntington University Field House from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The council is currently looking for volunteers to help make the event memorable for everyone.

Elementary Prom May 23
The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor an Elementary Prom for those in grade kindergarten through sixth grade Saturday, May 23 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the club located at 1410 S. Wayne St., Bluffton. The theme will be “Under the Sea.” Cost is $5 per person. For more information call 824-5070.

Sound of Music tryouts May 28
Auditions are now being scheduled for “The Sound of Music,” which will be presented during this year’s Swiss Days celebration in Berne.
Try-outs are open to area children, teens and adults, and are set for Thursday, May 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Auditioning individuals should come prepared to sing a song from one of the following categories: children, “My Favorite Things;” women, “The Sound of Music;” and men, “Edelweiss.” An accompanist will be provided.

5K Run/Walk June 6
The Monroe Lions Club will sponsor a 5K Run/Walk Saturday, June 6 at 8:15 a.m. Pre-registration is due by June 1, 2009. Entry fee is $15 for pre-registration or $18 the day of the race.
Te race will begin at the Adams County 4-H Fairgrounds in Monroe. It will follow a flat, blacktop course through Monroe.

Montpelier City Wide Garage Sales June 6
The Montpelier City Wide Garage Sales will be held Saturday, June 6. It will be sponsored by the Montpelier Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the sales go to help with projects the chamber is involved with.
Those wanting to have their sale put on the map will need to register at Neff insurance no later than June 2. Maps will be available on Wednesday afternoon at Neff Insurance, Neff Realty, The Pour House, and Pacesetter bank.

Feast of Hunters' Moon Oct. 10-11
The Tippecanoe County Historical Association of Lafayette, will sponsor the 42nd annual Feast of the Hunters' Moon Oct. 10 and 11, 2009.
The “Feast” derives its name from the moon cycles of the Miami Indian calendar and is held annually along the banks of the Wabash River in the fall during the phase of the “Hunters' Moon.” The event represents the time of homecoming, feasting, dancing and celebrating from the earliest days of historic Fort Ouiatenon.
Ouiatenon was built in 1717 and then burned to the ground in 1791.
Education is a strong focus of the event Seven different arenas and stages plus numerous locations on the 30 acres of festival grounds feature performances by musicans, interpreters, military re-enactors and Native American groups.
