Wesleyan Heritage bake sale May 16
Wesleyan Heritage Academy will be sponsor a bake sale Saturday May 16 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Bluffton Dairy Queen. All proceeds will go toward the Academy's new Rosetta Stone Foreign Language Program.

Wizard of Oz
Auditions at the Pulse Opera House May 17
How many times have you watched the Wizard of Oz and wished you could visit that magical land? Now you can! Auditions for the classic tale of Brains, Courage, Heart and Home are on Sunday, May 17 beginning at 2 p.m. Roles are available for all ages.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, May 17 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with auditions for Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Lion, the Scarecrow, the Wizard, the Wicked witch and Glinda. Munchkin (children age 5 and up) auditions will be at 4 p.m. and chorus auditions will be at 5 p.m. Everyone auditioning should come prepared to sing. Those who are auditioning for main roles should prepare a song from the show. Children should be prepared to sing as well.
The show dates are July 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25. Rehearsals are held Monday through Friday evenings, although not everyone is called every evening. We are also looking for adults to assist with costumes, set building and to help oversee the children in the show.

Elementary Prom May 23
The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor an Elementary Prom for those in grade kindergarten through sixth grade Saturday, May 23 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the club located at 1410 S. Wayne St., Bluffton. The theme will be “Under the Sea.” Cost is $5 per person. For more information call 824-5070.

Senior lunch
May 27 in Berne
The May Senior Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 27, at noon at the South Adams Senior Center at 825 Hendricks Street in Berne.
The menu will include: baked chicken breast with gravy, cheesy potatoes, green beans, roll and butter, chocolate cake, coffee and lemonade. The meal will be catered by Norm's Preble Gardens. May birthdays and anniversaries will be acknowledged and door prizes will be given away.
The entertainment will be furnished by Cassie Bertsch. She will perform vocals, piano, and guitar.
Cost is $5 per person. Please call the Senior Center to sign up at 589-8877 by Tuesday, May 26.
Sound of Music
tryouts May 28
Auditions are now being scheduled for “The Sound of Music,” which will be presented during this year’s Swiss Days celebration in Berne.
Try-outs are open to area children, teens and adults, and are set for Thursday, May 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Auditioning individuals should come prepared to sing a song from one of the following categories: children, “My Favorite Things;” women, “The Sound of Music;” and men, “Edelweiss.” An accompanist will be provided. (5/7)

Basket Making Class June 16
The South Adams Senior Center will offer a Basket Making Class taught by Wilma Rigby Tuesday, June 16 from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. Cost of the class will be $10 per person and all materials will be ready and cut for the class.
The basket to be made will be a Napkin Basket and you will be able to take it with you when you leave. The size of the class will be limited to the first 10 people that sign up and we will take reservations until Friday, June 5, 2009.
To sign up for the class please call the South Adams Senior Center at 589-8877. This class is open to all persons age 16 and above.
