Psi Iota Xi Scholarship available:
The Alpha Eta Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a student majoring in speech and hearing therapy or any area of the fine arts and who will be entering either the junior or senior year of college in the fall of 2011.
All applicants will receive consideration, but students from Wells County will be given preference over equally qualified applicants from other counties.
To receive an application please submit a letter of request by May 31, 2011, to Dawn Allison, 1550W., 1100N., Ossian, In 46777.
Echoes of the Civil War Exhibit May 19-31:
Gallery admission is free at the Creative Arts Center to view a series of Civil War photos exhibited in the Balentine Gallery from May 19-31.
Lynn Elliott has prepared memorabilia for display with the black and white photographs, on loan from the Fort Wayne Museum of Art.

Sheriff reserves hosting fundraiser May 21:
The Wells County Sheriff Reserves are offering pulled-pork sandwiches this Saturday to raise money for additional laptop computers in county patrol cars.
Tickets for the lunch, served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of South Main Street just east of the 4-H Park, are $6. Lunch includes a sandwich, chips, pop and a cookie.
Tickets are available at the jail, from any reserve officer or may be purchased on the spot. Drive-ups are welcome.
Joe Collins benefit May 21:
A benefit for Joe Collins will be held Saturday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the First Church of Christ at 909 W. Spring St. in Bluffton.
A pulled pork meal will be served. There will be a live worship music and a live auction.
Proceeds will go toward medical expenses Joe incurred during a recent, critical lung infection ,which resulted in hospitalization and surgery.
A freewill donation will be accepted. For more information, call Robin Gentis at 260-413-1685.
