Blackford County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 academic year from students, other than high school seniors, who are enrolled in college or vocational schools and programs. Applicants must be either graduates of Blackford High School or residents of Blackford County and have a current GPA of 2.50 or greater.
Forms are available online at: www.blackfordcounty.org or at the Foundation's office at 121 N. High St., Hartford City. Submission deadline is June 14, 2010. For more information call 765-348-3411.

Mississinewa
Reservoir to host Beatles Remix
May 29
Enjoy a tribute to the Beatles at 8 p.m. May 29 at Mississinewa's Interpretive Shelter and Amphitheater in the modern campground.
The two hour musical performance of the Bealtes Remix includes the sound, dress, hair and even English slang. Group members hail from Kokomo and Indianapolis.
The amhitheater is a short walk from the visitor parking area. The performance is free. There is a $5 per car entrance fee ($7 for out of state vehicles) to into the park. For more information call 260-468-2127 or log onto: www.in.gov/dnr/uwis.

Memorial Parade and Program
May 29
The public is welcome to attend the parade on Parnell Ave.. at 11 a.m. and a program at War Memorial Shrine on O'Day Road in Fort Wayne at 11 a.m.

Shortcake June 11
If you love strawberry shortcake this trip is for you. June 11 travel with us to St. Mark's U.M.C. in Decatur for the Strawberry Fling. Dinner and all the strawberry shortcake you can eat. Meal charge at the door. Leave at 5 p.m. Reservation deadline June 8.

Maumee Valley Steam and Gas
Association Quilt Show Aug. 19-22
The Maumee Valley Steam and Gas Association will sponsor their annual quilt show Aug. 19-22 at Jefferson Twp. Park in New Haven.
Registration will be Tuesday, Aug. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the showground.
Display of quilts will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. Vintage Indiana at Indy June 5
This will be the 11th year for Vintage Indiana—a festival of wine, food and fun to be held at Military Park in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday, June 5, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Entertainment will be provided by NeedToBreathe, Jon McLaughlin and Jennie Devoe (who has entertained in Bluffton at Kehoe Park concerts).
Eleven restaurants will be participating and 26 wineries will be offering samples. The event is for those over 21 years of age.
(The Creative Arts Council of Wells County is offering a day trip to the event. Cost is $60 ($55 for CAC members) which includes bus transportation and admission to the festival. (The bus will leave at 10 a.m. and return at about 9 p.m.) Reservations to (260) 824-5222 by June 1st.
