What is Up?

Adams County Advantage May 19
The Adams County Advantage, jointly sponsored by the Berne Chamber of Commerce and Decatur Chamber of Commerce, is a speed networking event open to all businesses and organizations located in or doing business in Adams County. The purpose is to make or renew contacts with business “neighbors.”
Representatives will be seated at round tables. Each participant will be permitted 90 seconds to promote their business or organization. A bell will signal when to start and end presentations. A business card and one piece of literature may be distributed by each person.
After everyone has made a brief presentation at the first table, the participants will be scrambled at other tables and the process will be repeated. Adams County Advantage will take place on Wednesday, May 19 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church. A breakfast will be served by Manley Meats. Please call by Friday May 14 to make your $10 reservation to this new cooperative event being sponsored by the Berne and Decatur Chambers of Commerce. 589-8080 or 724-2604.

Wells County Master Gardener Plant Sale May 15
The Wells County Master Gardener's annual plant sale will be held on Saturday, May 15 at 8 a.m. at the Dutch Mill Plaza in Bluffton just North of the Crosby Bridge on Main Street.
A nice selection of plants from the member’s gardens is expected at the sale with proceeds from the activity going for projects such as, the Cook-Williamson Memorial Iris Garden, the Farm Bureau/Master Gardener Flower Show during the 4-H Fair, the Ossian Elementary School plant laboratory, and educational projects sponsored by the group throughout the year.

Community Health Fair May 15
A Community Health Fair will be held Saturday, May 15 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Heritage Pointe in Warren. Those attending should enter through Cahpel entrance.
There will be a free Pixy Scan for Bone Density; Lipid Panel for $15 (10 hour fast required. Water and meds permitted), Glucose for $5 (10 hour fast required. Water and meds permitted); PSA for $20 men only (fasting NOT required); Thyroid for $20 (fasting not required); Comprehensive Metabolic Profile (CMP) for $25 includes glucose (10 hour fast), C-Reactive Protein (CRP for $20). Ladies & Girls Spring Fling Tea May 15
The South Adams Senior Center will host a Ladies/Girls Spring Fling Tea Saturday, May 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. There will be a light lunch served. Willa Kay Sprunger will be present the program. This event is open and free to the public. Those attending should bring a hat (garden hat, straw hat or old hat
You do need reservations so we know how many to plan for so please call the South Adams Senior Center at 260-589-8877 to reserve your place now. Reservations should be in no later than Thursday, May 13.

3 Points Youth
Ministry work day May 15
3 Points Youth Ministry, a new joint ministry program between St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Calvary Lutheran Church in Bluffton and St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Uniondale, will take part in the Great American Clean Up May 15. Those attending will meet at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Thiele Rd in Fort Wayne at 8:45 a.m. They will clean the area behind Walmart in Southtown Plaza in Fort Wayne. Farmer's Market May 15
Bluffton Farmer's Market at the Dutch Mill Plaza every Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to noon and Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. Featured will be flowers, garden plants, baked goods, noodles, eggs, handmade crafts. (Pd. Advt. 5-11)

Drags not Drugs May 16 in Muncie
The Lincoln College of Tech High School Race will be held Sunday, May 16 at the Muncie Dragway. The gates will open at 8 a.m. Time trials at 10 a.m. The race starts at 1 p.m. Race entry is $15 per student or parent. Spectators are $5 each. Students will be trying for $19,000 in total scholarship dollars. Parents and teachers will be trying for $2,000 scholarship (to be given to a student of their choice). Drags Not Drugs will be giving a $2,000 scholarship too.
The Turtle Race is back this year. Everyone has a 15 second dial-in for the 1/8 mile race. First to the finish line and does not go faster than 15 seconds wins. If both go faster than 15 seconds, both lose.
