Herbs Friends bus trip reservations due May 23
Herbs Friends Herb Club will sponsor a bus trip to Wildflower Woods Sylvan Lake location of Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site near Rome City June 5.
The bus will leave Decatur Plaza North at 7 a.m. and will return at 6 p.m. that evening. Costs is $50 per person and includes lunch and admission fees. Reservations are needed by May 23. Call Sandy at 724-4061, Mary at 724-5305 or Joanne at 724-9435. The trip will include three stops: Gene Stratton-Porter site, Quiet Corner Tea Room for lunch and Warsaw Biblical Gardens. There will be a guided tour of her formal gardens and home.

Register soon for Kid's Fishing Derbies
Children ages two to 14 are invited to participate in one of the Fishing Derbies at the three Upper Wabash Reservoirs June 5 during the statewide Free Fishing Weekend. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. with fishing from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Award ceremonies will follow. Children should pre-register. Each participating child will go home with a prize. There are grand prizes for the largest fish caught and prizes for each of the three age categories.
Call 260-468-2127 to register. The standard entrance $4-$5 fee will be in effect when the gatehouse is open.

Car show May 16 in Muncie
A Cruise-in Car Show will be held Sunday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YWCA Parking Lot, 310 East Charles Street, Muncie. Rain or shine. There is a $5 registration fee per car. Awards ceremony at 2 p.m. For more information call 765-282-0100 or 765-584-2713.

3 Points Youth
Ministry TinCaps Game May 21
Members of 3 Points Youth Ministry will go to a TinCaps Game May 21. Those attending should meet at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Thiele Rd in Fort Wayne at 5:45 p.m. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. Cost is $5. Bring a blanket and your glove! Medications Session May 25
On May 25 beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Aging and In-Home Services Nutrition Meal Site, Capri II Housing, 1180 Capri Court, Bluffton, there will be a Medication Management presentation. The is no cost. Information covered will include the importance of using Medication Card lists; what should be on a Medical Card list; using a Medication Dispenser; Using Markers (a color for each time of day); Keeping extra copies of medication Card lists and more. Bridges out of
Poverty training May 26
Purdue Extension will sponsor Bridges out of Poverty, training that gives participants key lessons in dealing with individuals from poverty. It will be held Wednesday, May 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wells County Community Center at the 4-H Park.
Karen Hinshaw, Huntington County Extension Educator, is the certified trainer for the program.
Seating is limited. To reserve a spot, please call 260-358-4826 to pick up a registration form. Deadline is May 12, 2010.
Those attending will learn how to use mental models to communicate effectively, and to assist clients from poverty to learn quickly. Bridges reaches out to the providers and businesses whose daily work connects them with the lives of people in poverty.

Camp Lutherhaven Work Day May 30
3 Points Youth Ministry will have a Camp Lutherhaven Work Day. They will assist in cleaning up camp before the summer camps start. Those helping should meet at St. Mark's on Thiele Rd. in Fort Wayne at 9 a.m. For more information call Erin Wolfe at 260-348-6511.

5K Run/Walk June 5
The Monroe Lions Club will sponsor a 5K Run/Walk Saturday, June 5 beginning at 8:15 a.m. at Adams County 4-H Fairgrounds in Monroe. Registration is $15 by May 31 or $18 after May 31. GED Testing is
June 22 & 23
Two-day GED testing will be held on June 22 and 23 from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wells County Public Library.
Testing is a two-day process. Those interested in taking the test must have been a resident of Indiana for 30 days. Three forms of identification are needed, including an Indiana driver’s license or Indiana ID card.
