Star Gazing Sept. 12
A star gazing night is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 at Lancaster Park at 8 p.m. There will be a variety of telescopes to view Saturn, Venus, the stars and more. This program is recommended for ages eight and older. Donations will be accepted for the Fort Wayne Astronomical Society. Call 824-6069 for information.

Saturday art  classes at USF
Spots are still available in the Saturday morning arts classes offered through the School of Creative Arts at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne.
The classes are for children in grades 1 through 8 meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. from Sept. 12 through Dec. 5. Students will be introduced to a variety of processes, artists and cultures through media and disciplines such as drawing, painting, printmaking, multimedia and ceramics. Cost is $5 per child and includes all materials. For more information or to register call 260-399-8064.

Friends of the Shelter meeting Sept. 14
Friends of the Shelter, the organization that provides support for the Bluffton/Wells County Animal Shelter, will meet at 5:30 pm Monday, Sept, 14 in the Council Chambers on the  second floor of City Hall, 128 E. Market Street. Items on the agenda are Shelter operations, updates on Spay-Neuter clinics and  Street Fair preparations. The meeting is open to the public. Call 273-1742. 

Needlework preservation info Sept. 15
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 1 p.m. a program on the care and preservation of important historic and contemporary textiles will be held in the Allen County Public Library in the Globe room in downtown Fort Wayne.

Program presenter will be Harold Mailand, of Textile Conservation Services of Indianapolis.
