Huntington’s regional art exhibit
Entry forms are now available for the annual Regional Art Exhibit sponsored by the LaFontaine Arts Council of Huntington.
The exhibit will be featured in the Wilson Gallery at the Merrilat Centre for the Arts at Huntington University from July 31 to Aug. 27.

Entry forms are due by July 22 with the entries to be received on Saturday, July 26, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Merillat Centre for the Arts.
Artists must be 18 years of age to enter. There are three categories for entry including Class 1—oil, acrylic, watercolor or drawing; Class II—photography or digital media; and Class III—sculpture, ceramics and textile.
An opening reception for the exhibit will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Wilson Gallery.
Summer of glass at FW museum
Fort Wayne’s Museum of Art will be celebrating a “Summer of Glass” with works by artist Peter Bremers and winners of the 42nd Annual International Glass Invitational, featured through Aug. 31.
Special programs will include a glassblowing exhibit in the Paradigm Gallery on Thursday, July 10, beginning at 5 p.m.
A gallery talk will be featured on Thursday, Aug. 7, beginning at 12:14 p.m.
A summer party will be held on Friday, Aug. 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening will feature cash edibles, a cash bar and live music. Admission is $5 for members and $12 for non members. Visit fwmoa.org/rsvp for tickets.
A group trunk show will be held in Paradigm Gallery on Thursday, Aug. 14, beginning at 5 p.m. There will be a gallery talk by artists Mike Brumbaugh, Eran Park and Matthew Paskiet. Park will be demonstrating glass blowing techniques. There is no admission charge.
Parade July 4 at Jay County
The Jay County Fourth of July Parade will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. in downtown Portland. Following the parade will be activities will follow at the Jay County Fairgrounds.
Throughout the day there will be inflatable games, water ball, karaoke, tractor pulls, a 5K run, a talent show, face painting, live music followed by fireworks at dusk.
All Jay County World War II Veterans are being asked to serve as Grand Marshals for the parade. A special float will be provided for Grand Marshals to ride on to be honored and recognized for their service to the United States of America. Veterans are asked to meet in the parking lot to the west of Freedom Park in downtown Portland at 10 a.m. July 4.

Car, Truck & Bike Show July 5 at Hardees
A Car, Truck and Bike Show will be held Saturday, July 5 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Hardee’s Restaurant at 211 N. Main St. in Bluffton. Registration will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
The theme is Christmas in July. Santa will attend and there will be an ugliest sweater contest.
Charities on site will be Operation Christmas Child, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army kettle and the local Christmas Bureau. In addition there will be dash plaques, awards, door prizes, raffles, food, a DJ, games and contests.

Botanical Conservatory open call
The Conservatory will hold an open call for visual art to be displayed on the gallery walls during the 2015 exhibit year. Oil, acrylic, photography, pen-and-ink, and similar media will be considered.
Submit digital images of a representative selection of work on a CD. Exhibits will run for two months. Pieces must arrive on installation date ready to hang. Selected artists will be announced on the Conservatory’s website Friday, Aug. 1.
