Ouabache's interpretive programs are family oriented. Parents and children are encouraged to attend activities together. An adult should accompany children under the age of 10. In the case of inclement weather, all hikes will meet at the Campview Shelter. Schedule subject to change.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 7
1:45 p.m. — Pool break creature feature. What cool creature will Naturalist Kate have today? Meet on the pool lawn to find out. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
3:45 p.m. — Meet the State bird. Be on the lookout for these birds most people know and love on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
7:30 p.m. — Eeeeewwwww! What is that smell? Find out more about our less than pleasant smelling friend, the skunk, tonight at Trails End Shelter.

THURSDAY, JULY 8
1:45 p.m. — Web weaver. This creature creates a beautiful web. Learn more about this spider during the safety check on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
3:45 p.m. — Fabulous fishy. Create your own fish during this program on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
7:30 p.m. — Birding basics. Enjoy watching birds, but don’t know the first thing about birding? Learn some of the basics tonight at Rustic Oak Shelter. There will be time to practice your new skills after the talk. Experienced birders welcome.

FRIDAY, JULY 9
1:45 p.m. — Catch this cat! This big fish can be found in the lake. Find out about this big cat during the safety check on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
3:45 p.m. — Summer fun. Meet on the pool lawn for a game of quick wits and survival. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
7:30 p.m. — Pioneers and plants. To survive in the frontier, you needed to know a thing or two about plants. Learn about a few of the plants pioneers used tonight at Campview Shelter.

SATURDAY, JULY 10
9:30 a.m. — Damsels and dragons. Join Naturalist Kate on an easy stroll around the lake as we search for aerial acrobats and learn about these ancient insects. Hike will meet at the Boat House. Tennis shoes, bug spray, and sunscreen are recommended for this program.
11 a.m. — Hoosier Quest. Discover! Connect! Explore! Learn more about these great project based programs that you can complete at any of the State Parks and Reservoirs during this 30 minute program. Find out how you can earn certificates, patches, bandanas and more. Get started by meeting at Campview Shelter located in the middle of Campground A!
1:45 p.m. — Pool break. Check out the creature Naturalist Kate has with her today during the safety check on the pool lawn. Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
8 p.m. — Campfire story. Naturalist Kate will share a little bit about owls before reading the story Owl Moon by Jane Yolen at Campview Shelter. After the story we’ll create a craft for you to take home.

SUNDAY, JULY 11
11 a.m. — Hoosier Quest. See Saturday for details.
1:45 p.m. — Pool break. Join Naturalist Kate for a quick game on the pool lawn. There will be prizes! Swimmers, make sure you have your hand stamped as you exit the bath house so you can easily re-enter the pool.
