BHS Sophomore Fundraiser begins
Members of the Bluffton High School sophomore class will be selling discount cards that feature local merchants. They may be purchased from any BHS sophomore or at the high school office. The class will sue the money raised to finance the 2011 prom and 2012 graduation.
Russell Strome in concert April 22
The South Adams Senior Center will sponsor a concert featuring Russell Stome Thursday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
The event is open to the public. A free will offering will be taken.
Book Fair April 24
There will be a book fair for the community April 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Hanfield Methodist Church located on State Road 18 and 400E outside of Marion.
There will be something for everybody, such as books, curriculum, various vendors, baked goods, information, and much more. For questions or to reserve a table, you can contact Mary at 765-934-9425. The event is sponsored by the Christian Home Educators Support Group.
Debbie Roth to
perform April 25
Debbie Roth will share a night of hope through music and personal testimony Sunday, April 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Markle Church of Christ.
There will also be a Benefit Auction Saturday, May 22 at the Markle Park to help raise $75,000 to purchase and renovate a building to move Jennifer's Closet to downtown Markle.
Jennifer's Closet helps families in Huntington and Wells Counties by providing free good, used clothing and new socks and underwear.
Poetry Open-Mic Night April 26
An Open -Mic Night will be held Monday, April 26 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Creative Arts Center in Bluffton.
Poets and listeners are welcome to experience the spoken art form (poetry) at an open microphone event. Poets have a venue to present their recent original work. The event often attracts poets from the surrounding region as well as students. All poets are welcome to read.
A timer will limit the length of readings so that as many readers as possible will be able to fill the time slots with their verse. Coffee and cookies provided. For more information call 824-5222 or log onto: www.wellscocreativearts.com.
