Improv Troupe event April 16
Norwell High School’s first ever improvisation troupe, now known as The Sleepless Knights, will perform its first show on April 16 at the high school “Comedy Club Café”.
The two girl, nine boy troupe consists of lead players Tyler Miller, Tim McBride, Blake Lampton, Brandon Havener, Cody Heckber, Robert Connett, and Harley Link, and supporting players Sebastian Hubble, A.J. Reynolds, Sam Tomten, and Chloe VanRyn.
The troupe is directed by theatre arts teacher Susan Kahn.
Audience members should be ready for anything as improvisation is an on-the-spot show. Nothing is rehearsed or planned and the only thing the players know ahead of time is the name of the games they will be playing. Many people are familiar with the television show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. Norwell’s troupe of improvisors play many of the same games, but don’t have the luxury of some editor cutting out the parts that didn’t work. These kids know they will have to go with whatever they get and make the best of it.
This brave bunch, consisting of two seniors, four juniors, three sophomores and two freshmen have met three times a week to practice the skills required to accept any crazy thing that comes along.
Show starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each.
Coffee, sodas, and desserts will be available. Some proceeds from this show will be donated to UNICEF for children in Haiti.
