Drive In out of hibernation in Wabash
The Honeywell Foundation and INGUARD have announced that the 13-14 Drive In will open for the season and offer free admission to kids 12 and younger all summer long.
The Drive In gates will open sometime during the month of May, just as they did in 1951, inviting all to “come as you are.”
Thursday, Aug. 23, 1951 was the original opening day with admission 50 cents for adults and free to those 12 and under. The first movie shown was “Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves” in Technicolor.
A contest to name the Drive In was held and 13-24  Drive In was chosen from 235 entries. Mrs. Don Alger was the winner as the name incorporated the two highways the theater was located beside.

The Honeywell Foundation will operate the 13-24 Drive In. For more details about the theater and the coming 2015 season go to www.1324drivein.com or call 260-563-5745.
