Fort Wayne’s Dance Collective offers 3 programs in January

With the coming of the new year the Fort Wayne Danc Collective is offering three programs to the public.
The first is a Taiko drumming workshop to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with an afternoon workshop from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Each workshop is $50 or $90 to attend both.
Instructors for the Japanese drumnming event will be Masato Baba, Kristofer Bergstrom, Shoji Kameda and Kelvin Underwood. For more informationcall 260-424-6574 or at info@fwdc.org
Next is a Winter Wellness Retreat to be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the collective’s studios at 437 East Berry St. in Fort Wayne.
The day will include tea and light fare by Jenie Porter, Yoga instruction with Jill Harman, T’ai Chi with Nancy Woollacott or relaxation techniques with Pam and Kelly Holt to be followed by lunch by Jeannie Porter.
Cost is $50 per person with registration needed to 260-424-6574.
Then on the weekend of Feb. 18-19 a Choreographer’s Lab will be offered budding choreographers and interested dancers. On Friday, Feb. 18 and Saturday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. both evenings there will be presentations at the Elliot Studio Theatre, 437 East Berry St. in Fort Wayne. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under.
