October is National Adopt-a-Shelter dog month. The Bluffton-Wells County Animal Shelter will be offer half price dog adoptions from Oct. 1 to Oct 31. For more information call 824-6063.

Montpelier
Preservation Bake and Rummage Sale Oct. 1 & 2
Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., the Montpelier Preservation Association will have a Bake Sale and Rummage Sale at the “Old Church Museum” located beside the Montpelier Public Library on South Main Street, Montpelier. There will also be books, clothing, toys, furniture and other household items for sale.

Kroozinationals Weekend Oct. 2 & 3
Kroozinational Weekend will be held Oct. 2 and 3 at Hiers Park in Huntington.
On Saturday, Oct. 2 the Giant Ed “Big Daddy” Roth Car, Truck and Bike Show will be featured.

Horse and Pony Meeting Oct. 3
There will be a meeting at the Wells County 4-H Park Sunday, Oct. 3 at noon to discuss events and schedules for 2011. All participants are encouraged to attend and offer suggestions. For more information contact Sue Campbell at 765-728-9049.

United Way Bingo/Raffle Oct. 7
The United Way of Wells County will sponsor a Bingo/Raffle event Thursday, Oct. 7 at 5:30 pm at the Community Building.
Those who cannot attend the event can still purchase raffle tickets by calling the United Way office 824-5589. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $5 each or 10 tickets for $20.
First prize is $250 in Chamber bucks; Second prize is a six month family membership to the Wells YMCA; Third prize is a $100 gift card from T.W. FA/BLE.

Sausage Breakfast Oct. 9
Bluffton Christian School will sponsor an all-you-can eat Pancake and Sausage fundraiser Oct. 9 from 7 to 11 a.m. at 1225 W Washington St. Bluffton. Donations accepted at door #3. Call 824-1203 for questions.

Tomahawk Chili Fundraiser Oct. 9
Wells County Tomahawks will spnosor a Chili Fundraiser to help send players to Copperstown, New York Saturday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Subway Parking Lot of Villa North in Bluffton.
A $5 ticket includes a cup of hot chili, crackers, peanut and jelly sandwich, and a cookie.
Large and mini pumpkins, colorful mums, a large variety of gourds, corn stalks, and baked goods will also be for sale.
