Free Flag Football Camp registration going on now
The Bluffton Parks Department and Bluffton Tigers Football Team is now registering boys age 7-10 for Flag Football. Camp will be June 22 to 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Bluffton Practice Field (located behind the tennis courts). This camp will teach basic fundamentals and emphasize teamwork.

Drowning Pool to
perform July 11
during Three Rivers
Drowing Pool, Texas modern rockers, will perform in concert Saturday, July 11 at 6 p.m. during the Three Rivers Festival in Fort Wayne. The concert is open to those age 21 and older.
The gates will open at 6 p.m. Tickets will go on sale June 2 at 9 a.m. at trfonline.org or by call the festival office at 260-426-5556.

Indiana artist
featured on WIPB PBS June 3
Nationally known artist/instructor and Indiana resident Bill Pattison's DVD series “The Art of Illusion” will be aired on WIPB-PBS, Ball State University, will be aired Wednesday, June 3 and June 10 at 1:30 p.m.
Pattison has taught nearly 15,000 students in over 100 Indiana cities. His website is: www.billpattisonstudio.com.

Summer swim
lessons offered in Berne
The Arthur and Gloria Muselman Welness Pavilion will offer summer swim lessons for children ages three and older.
Two week sessions will be June 1-4 and June 8-11 at 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. The four week sessions will be June 2-25 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11 and 11:45 a.m. There will also be more classes offered in July and August.

Montpelier City Wide Garage Sales June 6
The Montpelier City Wide Garage Sales will be held Saturday, June 6. It will be sponsored by the Montpelier Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds from the sales go to help with projects the chamber is involved with.Those wanting to have their sale put on the map will need to register at Neff insurance no later than June 2. Maps will be available on Wednesday afternoon at Neff Insurance, Neff Realty, The Pour House, and Pacesetter bank.

Women's Ministries Flea Market June 6
Women's Ministries of Trinity Life Chape, located on Hwy. 27 between Berne and Geneva, will sponsor their annual Flea Market Saturday, June 6 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vendors are welcome. Cost for a spot is a $10 donation. For more information call 260-346-2831.

Village at Winona Art Fair June 6 & 7
Artists from nine states and Canada will display their talents during the 10th Juried Art Fair held in The Village at Winona Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Free live entertainment for the weekend will be provided by classical guitarist Steven Suvada and Ariane Lydon, harpist.

Kid’s Safety Day on June 6
The Bluffton Noon Lions Club is partnering with Lowe’s to provide a day of fun, food, and learning about safety on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lowe’s Parking Lot on the north side of Bluffton.
The Lutheran Chopper will be on site along with local fire and police departments. A Bluffton City Bike Patrol officer will be available to offer free bicycle checks and free helmet fittings, so bring your bicycles and helmets with you.
Wal-Mart is donating a child’s bicycle that will be raffled off at the end of Safety Day. You need not be present to win.
A scavenger hunt and free prizes are also included in the scheduled events. Concessions (hot dogs, popcorn, JBG’s frozen custard, cookies, pie, McDonald’s Orange Drink, and water) will be sold in conjunction with a bake sale.

Free youth concert June 7
Life will perform a Free Christian concert for those ages 13 and older Sunday, June 7 at 6:30 p.m. at C&C Bible Fellowship located at 4383S., 150E., Berne.

Mack Dryden to speak June 7 at Fort Wayne
Mack Dryden, international humorist and cancer surivor, will speak during National Cancer Survivor's Day 2009 Sunday, June 7 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Fort Wayne Marriott Hotel at 305 E. Washington Center Road in Fort Wayne.

Dinner theater June 12
The Lutheran Home Auxiliary will host a Chicken Barbeque Dinner Theater Friday June 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lutheran Home at 6701 S. Anthony, Fort Wayne.
Presale tickets are $6.50 each. Tickets at the door are $7. They can be purchased from any Auxiliary member, in the Emporium of Lutheran Home or call John Rowlett at 447-1591, ext. 2116. Chicken halves may be purchased for $4 at the entrance of Lutheran Home.
Proceeds will be used to help purchase a newe bus for Lutheran Home residents.

Hair Braiding Class June 12
A Hair Braiding class will be offered in the City Hall building from 11 a.m. to noon Friday June 12 for anyone ages 13 to adult who would like to learn.
Those attending need to bring a friend or child with long hair to practice on. This free program will teach how to French braid, and backbone (reverse French braiding).

Pianist Robyn Wells to perform June 13 in Van Wert
Pianist Robyn Wells will perform a concert of classical music Saturday, June 13 at the First United Methodist Church, 113 W. Central Ave. in Van Wert. The concert, which begins at 7 p.m., is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted.
The concert to be presented features works by Mozart, Chopin, Saint-Saƫns, Carpenter, Poulenc, Schubert, and others. The music varies from lyrical and serene to a series of technical fireworks.

Jamfest @ The King's Place June 13
Calling musicians, singers, poets... and appreciative listeners to Jamfest at The King's Place, 118 W. Market Street, Bluffton, Saturday, June 13 at 6:30 p.m. Casey Fritts will be featured this month and will perform for 30 minutes throughout the evening.
Performers will get 10 minutes, more later if time permits. Performers are asked to be considerate that this is a family friendly event.

St. Mark’s Father’s Day Carry-Out Pork Chop Dinner June 21
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Rd., Fort Wayne, will sponsor a Carry-Out Only Pork Chop Dinner on Sunday, June 21, with pick up from 10 a.m. to 11:30 at the Church gym. Sew a Seam for Charity June 25-27
During the Original Creative Festival at Sharonville Convention Center June 25 through June 27 a LoveQuilt™ Connection charity event will be held where show attendees sit and sew a seam for charity. The group will be using the 6-Hour Quilt by Kaye Wood, author and hostess of TV's Kaye's Quilting Friends.
The idea behind the event is people will sit and sew some steps on the quilts which are then donated to local charities such at Ronald McDonald House, children's hospitals, Operation Linus, Wounded Warriors, VA hospitals, fire departments and police departments.

Feast of Hunters' Moon Oct. 10-11
The Tippecanoe County Historical Association of Lafayette, will sponsor the 42nd annual Feast of the Hunters' Moon Oct. 10 and 11, 2009.
The “Feast” derives its name from the moon cycles of the Miami Indian calendar and is held annually along the banks of the Wabash River in the fall during the phase of the “Hunters' Moon.” The event represents the time of homecoming, feasting, dancing and celebrating from the earliest days of historic Fort Ouiatenon.
Ouiatenon was built in 1717 and then burned to the ground in 1791.
Education is a strong focus of the event Seven different arenas and stages plus numerous locations on the 30 acres of festival grounds feature performances by musicans, interpreters, military re-enactors and Native American groups.
