From biting political satires and social commentary to beloved comic strips and cartoon characters created for children, artists from Indiana have been major players in the medium.
The Great War exhibit is just in time to commemorate that centennial of this pivotal chapter of American history. It will commemorate the contributions of Hoosiers, both on the battlefield and at home, while exploring the stories of soldiers and war workers, those who contributed to the war effort through manufacturing and local efforts to raise funds and support for the cause, and how the politics of the war affected Hoosier communities.
