Cinema Center to sponsor summer film festival
Fort Wayne’s Cinema Center has announced that they will be sponsoring the Hobnobben Film Festival at various sites from June 16 to 19, in celebration of the center’s 40th anniversary.
Filmmakers can now submit their work at www.hobnobben.org. The deadline is Feb. 22.
Planners hope the event, which still needs sponsors, will become as much a Fort Wayne summer event as Taste of the Arts or other big festivals.
Family-friendly and student projects will be shown at the University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Center while Arts United Center will be used for larger screenings and discussions. Cinema Center will screen films for smaller crowds and ArtsLab at Auer Center will screen experimental, avant- garde pieces.
The festival also will honor former Fort Wayne resident Philo Farnsworth with the Philo Fest, a showcase of independently produced TV pilots at Cinema Center.
