Free lunches on Thursdays at Life Church
Life Community will be serving a free lunch on Thursdays during the summer from 11 a.m. to noon at 428 S. Oak Street, Bluffton.
The lunch will consist of hotdogs, chips, cookies and a drink. Lunch will be served outside of the Life building on the Oak Street side entrance. Plan to stay after lunch for games and a treat. Call 824-2252.

Registrations begin for Cardboard Boat Race
Cardboard Boat Race Registration has begun. Families build a boat using only cardboard and duct tape that two people can ride in and enter the 2010 Cardboard Boat Race held July 24th. Official rules are at the Park office and you must call 824-6069 to register by July 16. Spectator admission is $2. Participation is free.

Parks events still have some openings
There are still some openings in the free bowling for children ages six and up, pee wee t-ball for ages four and five, and archery for students ages 10 and up. There are also have openings in the wood kit craft day that costs $5 per kit. Call the park office at 824-6069 for more details and to register.

Conservation Club selling tickets for Wood Carving
Members of the Ossian Conservation Club will be selling raffle tickets on a chainsaw “Wood Carving” by Sid King. If you have seen different animals or eagles carved from logs or stumps around the county you’ve probably seen Sid’s work. Tickets will sell for $1 each or six tickets for $5, and will be sold at all of the fund raisers and events this year and also from club members. For tickets or more information call, Dave Saalfrank at 622-7107 or Rose Barrick at 622-4733. The drawing will be at the Oct. 1st meeting at the Ossian Conservation Club.

Puzzled? Make a Splash @ the Library!
If you missed the photograph of Bluffton Mayor Ted Ellis soaking his toes to promote the Summer Reading Program at the Wells County Public Library, you can still enjoy the full color version online. And if you missed signing up for the Summer Reading Program, you still have time. Registration for adults, teens and kids continues through the month of June. Stop by the library today and sign up. BHES Summer
childcare program still has openings
The summer child care program at BHES is underway. The hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The cost is $10 per day. Children need to pack their own lunch. Parents only need to pay for the days their child is in attendance and we DO NOT need prior notice. Drop ins are welcome.
Children attending will take walking field trips to the library, parks and go to the pool on Tuesdays, weather permitting.

Car and Truck Show June 19
The fifth annual Community Christian Car and Truck show will be held June 19 at 1309 W. Washington St., Bluffton.
Registration will be held from 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine. Awards will be at 2 p.m. There will be a live dj and homemade food for breakfast and lunch. The top 10 and specialty cars will be recognized. The first 50 registrants will receive a dash plaque. Registration fee is $10. For more information call 260-824-3903.

Friends of the Kellys Fundraiser June 19
Team Burger King will face off Friends of the Kellys June 19 at 3 p.m. at Wilson Field (Lions Park softball diamond).
A free will donation will be collected during the game intermission. All proceeds will go to the family. The family is in the process of building a new home so they can better take care of 13-year-old Robert Kelly who has Spina Bifida.

Breakfast and
auction at The Bridge June 19th
A Breakfast and Auction will be held Saturday, June 19 at The Bridge.
Breakfast (freewill donations accepted) will be served from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The auction will begin at 10 a.m. There over 100 items listed and more are coming in daily. All proceeds from the event will go towards mission trips to Haiti through Mission of Hope in Haiti. The Bridge is sending 27 people in July and another 20 in October in an effort to help the Haitians rebuild their homes, churches, schools and lives. The public is invited to join us for breakfast and the auction to help us make a difference in, not only the people of Haiti, but in also the lives of those serving. Touch a Truck
June 19
Touch a Truck Event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 19. Let your child experience what big trucks are really like. Vehicles will be on display at Washington Main Commons. Trucks may include: a dump truck, concrete mixer, ambulance, fire truck, police car, etc. This event is free and open to the public. No pre-registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. In case of unfavorable weather, this event will be canceled.

Children's Garage Sale June 19
A Children's Garage Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 19. Those interested should call 824-6069 for table space in the third annual all kids garage sale held in the Bluffton City Gym. This is a great way to help children learn to buy, sell or trade used books, toys, puzzles, games and sports equipment. No clothing or lemonade stands. Cost is $2 for table space and a parent must attend and have items clearly marked.

Blackford County
4-H Fair June 19-26
The Blackford County 4-H Fair will be held June 19-26 in Hartford City.
There will be a lawn and garden tractor pull Friday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m.; a Truck Pull Saturday, June 19 at 5 p.m.; the queen contest Sunday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m. and the annual parade Monday, June 21 at 6 p.m.
Other events include a free classic rock and roll concert Tuesday, June 22 at 8 p.m., Donkey Chariot Races Wednesday, June 23 at 7 p.m.; a Lip Sync and Karaoke Contest Thursday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Spike and the Bulldogs concert Friday, June 25 at 8 p.m. For more information call 765-348-3213 or email: oneillra@purdue.edu.

Hurryin' Harrisons 4-H Car Wash
June 19
Members of the Hurryin' Harrisons 4-H club will be host a car wash Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Wells County 4-H Park. Proceeds will be donated to the Wells County Animal Shelter.

Conservation Club Garage Sale June 19
Members of the Ossian Conservation Club Inc. will participate in the Ossian Garage Sale Day Saturday, June 19. They will be set up on Maplewood Drive across from the Fire Station in Steve Gibson’s back yard.
They will be popping sugar corn and selling ice cold pop and water. Stop in for a break from your shopping and have a cold pop and a bag of sugar corn. Proceeds will to go to the new furnace and siding fund.

Shotgun Shoot
June 20
The Ossian Conservation Club Inc. will sponsor a Shotgun Shoot Sunday, June 20 from noon to 4:30 p.m. There will be regular clays, middies, minnies and rabbit targets. Public is welcome.
