Longing for a City:

Jon Swerens, news and presentation editor for The Fort Wayne News-Sentinel, will evoke memories of Fort Wayne during a book signing and slide-show of photographs from the new book, Allen County Photo Album 1955-59 at the Wells County Public Library on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 6:30 p.m. His presentation “Longing for a city: Why we miss Old Fort Wayne” will highlight historic photographs taken by mid-century News-Sentinel photographers. It’s a fascinating looks at news of the day, such as Elvis Presley’s concert at the coliseum and the iconic downtown department stores. The event is free and open to the public.
