Redirecting Everyday Power Struggles March 12
Redirecting Everyday Power Struggles from Toddlers to Teenagers will be presented by Dr. Tim Jordan Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Many parents today experience power struggles with their children over issues such as bedtime, food, homework, morning routines and chores. Tim Jordan, M.D., will help you understand why kids misbehave, as well as how to prevent and redirect power struggles. Dr. Jordan will also discuss the role of temperament, how to run family meetings and how to not lose it!

Fish Fry March 13
St. Joseph Church, Hessen Cassel, will sponsor an All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry Friday, March 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $6.50 for those ages six through 11. Children under age five eat free.

Fish and Tenderloin supper March 14 at Zanesville
Zanesville United Methodist Church will sponsor an all-you-can-eat Fish and Tenderloin Supper Saturday, March 14 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tower Life Center at 11811 N. Wayne Street.
Dan's Fish Fry will provide the fish and tenderloin. Carry-outs will be available. There will be homemade scalloped potatoes and desserts, applesauce or coleslaw, green beans and bread.
All proceeds will benefit Tri-County Ministries, Cub Scouts and ZUM Youth DCLA 2009 trip.
Cost is $8 for adults, $4.50 for children, ages six through 10 and free for children age five and under.

Baked spaghetti dinner March 14
New Hope Lutheran Preschool in Ossian will sponsor an all-you-can-eat baked spaghetti dinner Saturday, March 14 from 5 to 7 p.m.
The dinner will include baked spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, desserts and drinks. A free will donation will be taken.

Spaghetti Dinner March 14 at Bluffton
Bluffton First Church of the Nazarene, 1515 Clark Avenue, Youth Group will host a Spaghetti Dinner Saturday, March 14 from 5 to 7 p.m..
All proceeds will help the youth on a mission trip to Pontiac, Mich. this June to minister to the inner city.
Dinner includes a generous portion of spaghetti, breadstick, salad, dessert and a drink. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children, ages one through 10. Take out will be available.

Spaghetti Fundraiser March 14 at Hoagland
Hoagland Area Advancement Association will sponsor a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser March 14 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hoagland Park.
Cost is $6 for adults, $30 for children and free for those age five and younger. Those purchasing a dinner will have a chance to win a WII gaming system with one year warranty. Pancake Sausage Breakast March 14
A Pancake and Sausage Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 14 from 7 to 9:30 a.m. at Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church, 4510E 400N, Craigville.
A freewill donation will be taken with proceeds going to the Harvest Community Food Bank and the Wells County Food Bank.
The event is sponsored by the Lancaster Community Youth. The public is welcome to attend.

Open Mic Night at King's Place March 14
There will be an Open Mic Night Saturday, March 14 at The King's Place, 118 W. Market Street, Bluffton, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Master of Ceremonies will be Stephanie Young. The host band will be One Way, featuring Sam Steffen. The band will play six to eight songs.
Open mic for musicians, singers, poets to add their part to the evening or to collaborate with other performers.
Performers are asked to be considerate in the material they choose for this "Family Friendly" event. Refreshments will be available.

Concert and chili supper March 14
Covenant Christian School will sponsor a concert and chili supper fundraiser Saturday, March 14 with Tim LeBeau.
Supper starts at 5:30 p.m. Concert begins at 7 p.m. Ticket price is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages five to 10. Ages four and under are free. Call 824-1203 for questions.

Coin and Currency Show March 15
The Old Fort Coin Club will sponsor a Coin and Currency Show Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Allen County Fairgrounds.
There will be over 50 tables of numismatic material, free parking, free admission and food available.

East of Chicago fundraiser on St. Patrick’s Day March 17
Gamma Zeta Chapter of Psi Iota Xi in Ossian is sponsoring a fundraiser at East of Chicago Pizza in Ossian. The event will be held on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) from 5 to 8 p.m., with proceeds going to support Ossian philanthropic projects. Adult tickets, which include the pizza and salad buffet, drink, & tax, can be purchased from any Ossian Psi Ote member for $9.29, or by calling 622-7691. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, as well as orders selected from the menu.

Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau annual meeting March 17
The 33rd annual meeting of the Fort Wayne Women’s Bureau will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Source One Solutions, 2135 Spy Run Avenue, Fort Wayne.
The cost is $15 per person. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the Women’s Bureau at 424-7977. All members and the public are invited to attend. Reservation deadline is March 13.
The business meeting agenda includes reports from the Chair of the Board of Directors and the Treasurer, consideration of an amendment to the Bylaws, the election of new board members, and the presentation of staff service recognition awards. The Woman of the Year award will be presented to two women who have provided exemplary service to the Women’s Bureau.

Beekeepers Beginners Night March 19
The Northeastern Indiana Beekeepers Association will host a Beginners Night Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. at the Chapel at 2505 W. Hamilton Road, 1/4 mile south of State Road 14.
Topics will include: getting started, getting bees, what to wear, diseases, hive assembl and honey.
Experienced beekeepers, magazines and other resource material will be available.
Cost is $15 and includes admission, a beginners beekeeping book and a one year membership to the Northeastern Indiana Beekeepers Association.

Schlachtfest March 21
Schlachtfest 2009, sponsored by the Fort Wayne Maennerchor/Damenchor, will be held Saturday, March 21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served from 7 to 8 p.m. Music for dancing until 11 p.m. Cost is $10 with dinner or $5 without dinner and $5 for children 12 or younger. Circle W Riders Horse Club will sponsor a Nelson's port-a-pit chicken fundraiser Saturday, March 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowe's parking lot in Bluffton. Camera Phone Scavenger Hunt March 21
Family Centered Services, Inc. will host a Camera Phone Scavenger Hunt for the downtown Safe Place Sites Saturday, March 21st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate National Safe Place Week.
Those attending will meet at the Bluffton City Gym 128 E. Market St. All kids and friends welcome. You will be placed in groups with adult supervision. You will receive wacky clues to find downtown Safe Place Sites
Snacks and drinks will be provided on your journey.
Following the event pizza will be provided by Tyeger's Pizza.

Chili supper March 21
The Poneto Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a chili supper Saturday, March 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Poneto Fire House.
Available will be chili, chicken noodle, sloppies, hot dogs, homemade desserts and drinks. A free will donation will be taken during the event.

The Northmen's Homecoming March 21
The Northmen's 20th annual anniversary Homecoming Christian Music Concert will be held Saturday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at Lifeway Wesleyan Auditorium at 7722 Moeller Road, Fort Wayne.
Featured will be The Northmen, Hoosier Harmony Quartet and Scott Godsey.

Irish Sundae meal March 22
Members of the Dillman United Brethren Church will sponsor an Irish Sundae meal March 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The meal will feature baked potatoes with a selection of 10 toppings, sandwiches, drinks and desserts including homemade pies.

Mad Ants at Boys and Girls Club March 22
The Mad Ants will be at the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club Sunday, March 22 for a three on three tournament from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $1 per player and $4 per spectator. Spectators under age five are free. For those who pay $4 to get into the event that day they will recieve a ticket to the a Mad Ants game scheduled for April 10, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

IPFW Cheer Camp March 23
There will be an IPFW Cheerleading Cheer Champ Monday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club at 1410 S. Wayne Street for boys and girls kindergarten through eighth grade. Cost is $20 per child. Lunch will be served. A cheer performance will be held at 2 p.m.

Smash a Truck March 24
Smash a Truck will be held Tuesday, March 24 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club. Donations from the event will go toward operational expenses for the club. For more information call 824-1570.

The Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton will sponsor a chili supper Wednesday, March 25 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and younger.

The Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a party for all kids March 26 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $5 per person.

Port-a-Pit Chicken March 27
The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a Port-a-Pit Chicken sale Friday, March 27 at the WalMart parking lot in Bluffton.
Cost is $6 per half chicken. A dinner, which includes chicken, Pit-Tatoes, applesauce and drink, is $12. Additional Pit-Tatoes is $4. For more information call 824-5070.

St. Aloysius Fish Fry March 27
The St. Aloysius Fish Fry will be held Friday March 27 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The menu includes Country Chef’s all you can eat fish, scalloped potatoes or chips, coleslaw or applesauce, roll, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for children ages six through 11 and free for those age five and younger.Carryout is $8.

Family Day March 28
The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a Family Day Saturday, March 28 in the overflow parking lot at Life Community Center in Bluffton from There will be a $10 entry fee.
Registration from noon to 1 p.m. Show from 1 to 4 p.m. Awards are from 4 to 4:30 p.m.
Activities include food, games, moonwalk, 50/50 raffle, prizes, trophies and more. The event is sponsored by Joker 13 Cycles. For more information call 824-5070.

Italian Night March 30 at St. Joe
St. Joseph Catholic Church will sponsor an all-you-can-eat Italian Night Monday, March 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1300 N. Main in Bluffton.
Available will be spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken fettuccine alfredo. Adult meal will include two bread sticks, a salad, drink and dessert. A child meal will include one bread stick, a salad, drink and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages six through 12 and free for those under age five. All you can eat avaiable for eat in only. Carry outs will be available.
