Library Cookbook Club March 19
Ossian Library’s Cookbook Club will be meeting Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Come sample a couple savory appetizers. Please bring a copy of your favorite appetizer recipe to share. Registration is not necessary.
Beekeepers Beginners Night March 19
The Northeastern Indiana Beekeepers Association will host a Beginners Night Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. at the Chapel at 2505 W. Hamilton Road, 1/4 mile south of State Road 14.
Topics will include: getting started, getting bees, what to wear, diseases, hive assembl and honey.
Experienced beekeepers, magazines and other resource material will be available.
Cost is $15 and includes admission, a beginners beekeeping book and a one year membership to the Northeastern Indiana Beekeepers Association.

Educator workshop at Limberlost March 19
A free professional development workshop for educators in grades kindergarten through 12 will be offered March 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva.
The workshop is hands-on and includes inquiry based cross curricular activities that can be brought back to the classroom. Activities have been correlated to National and Indiana standards. This is a Project WET and Project WILD.

Schlachtfest March 21
Schlachtfest 2009, sponsored by the Fort Wayne Maennerchor/Damenchor, will be held Saturday, March 21. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served from 7 to 8 p.m. Music for dancing until 11 p.m. Cost is $10 with dinner or $5 without dinner and $5 for children 12 or younger. Port-a-Pit Chicken March 21
Circle W Riders Horse Club will sponsor a Nelson's port-a-pit chicken fundraiser Saturday, March 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lowe's parking lot in Bluffton. Cost is $5.25 for 1/2 chicken, $1 for a baked potatoe. There will also be baked goods (regular and sugar free). Tickets will be available in advance and the day of the event. Camera Phone Scavenger Hunt March 21
Family Centered Services, Inc. will host a Camera Phone Scavenger Hunt for the downtown Safe Place Sites Saturday, March 21st from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to celebrate National Safe Place Week.
Those attending will meet at the Bluffton City Gym 128 E. Market St. All kids and friends welcome. You will be placed in groups with adult supervision. You will receive wacky clues to find downtown Safe Place Sites
Snacks and drinks will be provided on your journey.
Following the event pizza will be provided by Tyeger's Pizza.
Chili supper March 21
The Poneto Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a chili supper Saturday, March 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Poneto Fire House.
Available will be chili, chicken noodle, sloppies, hot dogs, homemade desserts and drinks. A free will donation will be taken during the event.
The Northmen's Homecoming March 21
The Northmen's 20th annual anniversary Homecoming Christian Music Concert will be held Saturday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at Lifeway Wesleyan Auditorium at 7722 Moeller Road, Fort Wayne.
Featured will be The Northmen, Hoosier Harmony Quartet and Scott Godsey.

Wells Genealogy Society to meet March 21
The Wells Co. Genealogy Society will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Wells County Historical Museum at 420 West Market St. Bluffton.

Irish Sundae meal March 22
Members of the Dillman United Brethren Church will sponsor an Irish Sundae meal March 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The meal will feature baked potatoes with a selection of 10 toppings, sandwiches, drinks and desserts including homemade pies.
A free will donation will be accepted. All proceeds will go to the church's local, national and international missions. Dillman UB Church is located three miles west of State Road 3 and 900S in Wells County. For more information call 260-375-2779.
Mad Ants at Boys and Girls Club March 22
The Mad Ants will be at the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club Sunday, March 22 for a three on three tournament from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $1 per player and $4 per spectator. Spectators under age five are free. For those who pay $4 to get into the event that day they will recieve a ticket to the a Mad Ants game scheduled for April 10, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.

IPFW Cheer Camp March 23
There will be an IPFW Cheerleading Cheer Champ Monday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club at 1410 S. Wayne Street for boys and girls kindergarten through eighth grade. Cost is $20 per child. Lunch will be served. A cheer performance will be held at 2 p.m.
Smash a Truck March 24
Smash a Truck will be held Tuesday, March 24 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club. Donations from the event will go toward operational expenses for the club. For more information call 824-1570.

The Boys and Girls Club of Bluffton will sponsor a chili supper Wednesday, March 25 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and younger.

The Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a party for all kids March 26 from 8 p.m. to midnight. Cost is $5 per person.

The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a Port-a-Pit Chicken sale Friday, March 27 at the WalMart parking lot in Bluffton.

St. Aloysius Fish Fry March 27
The St. Aloysius Fish Fry will be held Friday March 27 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The menu includes Country Chef’s all you can eat fish, scalloped potatoes or chips, coleslaw or applesauce, roll, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for children ages six through 11 and free for those age five and younger.Carryout is $8.

The Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will sponsor a Family Day Saturday, March 28 in the overflow parking lot at Life Community Center in Bluffton from There will be a $10 entry fee.
Registration from noon to 1 p.m. Show from 1 to 4 p.m. Awards are from 4 to 4:30 p.m.

Mt. Zion fish supper March 28
A Fish, Chicken and Tenderloin supper by Dan's Fish Fry will be held Saturday, March 28 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. At Twin Bridge Conservation Club in Mt. Zion.
Tickets at the door are $8 for adults, $4.50 for children, ages six through 12 and free for those ages five and younger.

Paws to Read program at Markle
Huntington City-Township Public Library sponsors spring PAWS-TO-READ programs
The Huntington City-Twp. Public Library in Markle will sponsor the spring Paws-to-Read Program.
The mission is to improve the literacy skills of children with the assistance of registered canine reading companions in a fun and relaxed environment. Children ages six through 12 will participate in one-on-one sessions in which they practice reading aloud to trained therapy dogs. Research with therapy animals indicates that children with low self-esteem are often more willing to interact with an animal than another person. Even more, they are inclined to forget about their limitations.
Dates for the program at Markle will be MarkleSaturdays only, March 28, April 4 and 18 at 197 East Morse Street.

Italian Night March 30 at St. Joe
St. Joseph Catholic Church will sponsor an all-you-can-eat Italian Night Monday, March 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1300 N. Main in Bluffton.
Available will be spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken fettuccine alfredo. Adult meal will include two bread sticks, a salad, drink and dessert. A child meal will include one bread stick, a salad, drink and dessert. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages six through 12 and free for those under age five. All you can eat avaiable for eat in only. Carry outs will be available.
Spring Break Camp at Science Central
