Items to be sold include science and art tables, roofing pitch and aluminum paint, Powermatic band saw, Rockwell joiner planer, Amaco kiln, metal file cabinet, and camera equipment.
Bid sheets may be picked up in the Central Office or at the storage site. Silent bids will be taken from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, with the bids to be awarded at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5. Winning bidders will be notified at that time.

Limberlost State Historic Site will once again host the annual Antique Gas Engine Show Sunday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free!
The Antique Gas Engine Show will once again take place on the parking lot of the historic log cabin home of naturalist, filmmaker and author Gene Stratton-Porter in Geneva, Ind. Vendors selling refreshments, crafts and rummage sale items will be on hand and the site will be open for tours.
Engine show participants are not required to preregister. Gasoline is provided by the Friends of the Limberlost. Participants receive certificates awarded in such categories as largest engine, smallest engine, oldest engine, eldest exhibitor, youngest exhibitor and exhibitor who traveled the greatest distance to the Engine Show. There will be a tractor drive around Geneva to the Ceylon Covered Bridge beginning at 2 p.m. There is still room for craft and food vendors. There will be a tractor drive around Geneva to the Ceylon Covered Bridge beginning at 2 p.m. There is still room for craft and food vendors. The Bowman family reunion will be held Sunday, Oct. 4 at noon. It will be held five miles west of Monroe on 124 and one mile north.

Lancaster Chapel U.M. Church will hold their annual Church in the Woods service Sudnay, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. in the east pavilion at the Wells County 4-H Park.
Worship music will be provided by Heaven's Harmony (Patty Bollheimer, Kent and Kraig Biberstein, Jamie Chism and Bill Wafford.)

Busy Bees
The Busy Bees met at the Corner Depot at noon for their monthly meeting. Sharon Thomas was the hostess and she presented each guest a small Chinese vase.
President Diane Enyart opened the meeting with those present saying the Pledge to the flag. Following the pledge, the devotions was given by Emojean Brown; she read John 15:1-11.
Roll call was taken by those present giving an answer for their favorite Street Fair Food.
Diane used a reading entitled September 11.
Glenna Lee reported on the Club donation to the Southern Wells “needy fund”, then she gave the treasurer’s report.
Emojean read the Thought of the Month and Diane reported on the Council meeting. A new cookie cookbook is in the making with recipes from those participating in the 4-H cookie bake.
There will be NO participation in the Wheels of Yesteryear meeting next year for the fish fry.
Diane gave each member the booklet called “Life Made Simple” a gift from Jerry Shaw.
It was noted that the volunteer day at the 4-H Pancake/Sausage Booth will be Thursday of Street Fair.
The new Extension Educator will be coming at the end of September. She is Mollie Hough.
The lesson for the day was 10 Simple Rules for a Happier Life.
The song of the month was sung, monies for the flower fund and coins were collected.

We broke for supper and enjoyed a meal of ones’ choice and a piece of pie compliments of our hostess Sharlene.
After the meal, the secretaries report was read and approved. No treasurers report in absence of our Treasurer Charlotte Gehring due to the death of her father.
Coins for friendship were collected.

The Huntington Parks and Recreation Department is looking for vendors to join it's annual Craft Show on Nov. 14, 2009. Booths are $20 each consisting of two 8 foot tables and are placed in Heritage Hall and the 4-H Community Building at Hier's Park. Location is on a first come, first served bases so get your registration fee into the park office as soon as possible. The office is located at 1205 W. Park Dr. Huntington IN 46750. James Dean Festival Sept. 25-27
The 34th annual Festival honoring James Dean is scheduled to take place during the weekend of Sept. 25 through Sept. 27 in the actors Hometown of Fairmount, Indiana.
Planned activities include a Huge Custom and Hot Rod Car Show all weekend. The Grand Parade will be held Saturday afternoon. There will be free live entertainment, carnival rides, street vendors, the always popular James Dean Look-a-Like Contest on Saturday evening, and much more!
Visitors can also see James Dean's final resting place at Park Cemetery and other locations of interest.

St Luke Church’s annual Mission Feast will be held Sunday, Sept. 27. Special guests will include Bill and Penny Gay who have just returned from Alaska, and Randall J Rider, president of Crossroad Children’s Home in Fort Wayne.
Several of the church members who went on a mission work trip to Kentucky this summer will review some of the highlights of their effort, and reports will also be given of the other missions supported by the church.
The regular service begins at 9 a.m. The mission presentations are scheduled for the Sunday School hour at 10:15 a.m., and the fundraiser dinner will be at the activity center at 11:30 a.m.
Dinner will feature a cookout by Todd Lotter and his crew. Brats, hot dogs, onion rings, french fries, elephant ears, and ice cream are on the menu.

Members of the Circle W. Riders Horse Club will sponsor a food drive Sept. 22 through Sept. 25 at the Wells County 4-H Park. People are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the north edge of the horse barn or west edge of the cattle barn at the 4-H Park. The food collected will be given to the Wells County Food Bank.
Liberty Center Music Fest & Car Show Sept. 27
The eighth annual Libert Center Music Fest and Car Show will be held Sunday, Sept. 27 at Liberty Center Park from noon to 4 p.m. There will be music, food, drawing for prizes throughout the day and fun for the kids. There will also be show cars, trucks and motorcycles to see.
A drawing will be held at the end of the day for the following prizes: First: gas grill; Second: $100; Third: $50. Show car, craft and flea market entries may register and start setting up at 11 a.m. There is still time to register by calling 260-375-2079. Cost is $10 per person.

President Jerry Shaw opened with the Welcome and the thought of the month entitled “I've Learned it is Impossible to Teach without Learning Something Yourself.”
Hostesses were Maxine Schenkel and Ruth Hedges. Inspirational devotions were given by Jean Sturgeon. She read a variety of inspirational quotes. Members sang the table grace.
The business meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. Members sang the song of the month entitled “You're a Grand Old Flag.”
Roll call was answered by members naming their favorite fair food.
The minutes and treasurer's reports were read and approved.
Happy birthday was sung to one person. Mary Jane Park reported about the Fort Wayne District meeting. Her topic was “Do you hear what I hear?” She also gave the itinerary for the October 14th trip to Muncie. President Jerry announced that Molly Hoag is the new Wells County Home Extension Educator. Jerry also asked for volunteers for Street Fair.
Upcoming events are: Fall Program Fair Sept. 29 at the 4-H Community Building and the Frozen Food and Vegetable Sale: Sept. 22.
Mona Jean Highlen won the door prize. The meeting was closed by members reading the “Collect.”

Women's Basketball begins
Any female who enjoys playing the game of basketball can do so each Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Elementary.
Sign up for Co-Ed Volleyball
If you enjoy the game of volleyball and would like to play in our Co-ed League, the Bluffton Parks and Recreation is now taking registration.
Those interested must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Put together your own team and call us. There is a limit of eight teams, so call soon at 824-6069. The games will be held on Monday evenings beginning November 5 for 12 weeks.

Again this year employees of the Bluffton Corning Glass Works plant will hold a reunion with a dinner at Bi-County Services at noon Saturday, Sept. 26.
Meat, soft drinks and coffee will be furnished. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish to share. No alcohol is allowed.

The 31st Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at South Adams High School. The event is sponsored by the Swiss Heritage Society.
