Registration opens for Camp Little Red Door
Little Red Door Cancer Agency will hosti Camp Little Red Door, a five-day summer camp for children with cancer. The camp will be held from July 27 through Aug. 1 at Bradford Woods in Martinsville. The registration deadline is June 13.
Any child 8-18 years old with cancer or in remission living in Indiana is eligible to attend. One sibling/friend per patient is welcome to attend, if space allows. The camp is Indiana’s oldest camp for children with cancer. 
The camp will include swimming, canoeing, fishing, archery, camp fires, arts and crafts and more! An experienced medical staff will be onsite 24 hours a day. The Robert T. Grand Leadership Academy, open to previous campers at least 16 years-old, will be held July 25 through July 27.

5K Bison Stampede at Ouabache slated for June 21
The Friends of Ouabache State Park are sponsoring a 5 K Run/Walk on June 21, 2014. The group is asking local businesses and families for donations to insure its success. 
The 5K Stampede will coincide with the Bison Bonanza Bash interpretive activities scheduled that same day. All proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk will be applied to the fund designated to purchase a Civilian Conservation Corps statue to be placed at Ouabache State Park. This statue will be significant to the park, the Bluffton area, and commemorate the dedication of the many CCC workers who served at Camp 1592.
The group is asking  for a $30 donation sponsorship by June 13. With the donation businesses or family’s name will appear on the back of the T-shirts as a sponsor for the run.

Home Canning, Drying and Freezing class June 23
The Parks and Recreation Department and instructor Molly Hoag will offer a canning, drying, and freezing class on Monday, June 23 from 6-8 p.m. on the second floor of city hall. Cost is $3 per person and participants must register by calling 824-6069 or e-mailing the park office at parks@ci.bluffton.in.us by June 13.
Home canning of vegetables and fruits, along with drying culinary herbs and freezing produce are all excellent ways of assuring that families reap the rewards of their home grown or farmer’s market produce throughout the year. 

Register now for Alzheimer Walk
Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter invites Fort Wayne residents, individuals and companies in the surrounding counties can unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s to be held Saturday, Sept. 20 at Headwaters Park, located at 333 S. Clinton St. Participants can register by visiting alz.org/indiana.
Last year, the Fort Wayne walk raised more than $180,000 and had over 1,000 participants.
