Free concert at IPFW March 13
On Friday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will be presenting a free concert at the Rhinehart Music Center on the IPFW campus.
The concert will showcase conductors attending the International Conductors Workshop. Conductors will include Gregory Woodbridge, Jacob Sustaita, Eduardo Cedeno, Conner Gray Covington, Antoine T. Clark, Jon-hun Bae, Parinyua Chucherdwatanasak and Takuya Nishiwaki.
Selections will include works by Beethoven, Mozart and Mendelssohn.
A free-will donation will be collected at the concert for the Ernest Zala Youth Orchestra Scholarship. (Zala was a long-time member of The Phil who devoted his life to furthering music education.) No tickets are necessary.
Easter Egg Hunt, Dog Bone Hunt & Marshmallow Contest April 4
The Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt, a Dog Bone Hunt and a Marshmallow Peep Eating Contest, all on the lawn at Roush Park Saturday April 4.There will be 4,000 colorful eggs and fresh rabbit tracks.
Children’s egg hunt will begin at 12:30 p.m. sharp. Children will be divided into age groups and each group will have a “golden egg”. Baby animals will be on hand for children to pet.
The Dog Egg Hunt will start promptly at 12:45 p.m. Pets must be on a leash at all times.
Following the hunts a few lucky adults will be selected to participate in a marshmallow peep eating contest.
