Downtown FW’s lunch on the plaza Thursdays

Lunch on the Plaza concerts in downtown Fort Wayne will be presented every Thursday in August from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. The free concerts are held at the courtyard of the I&M Power Center Plaza, on the corner of Wayne and Calhoun Sts.

The schedule includes:

Aug. 20—Shade Jonze (classic covers)

Aug. 27—Elle/The Remnant.

Friday nites live at Jefferson Pointe

Every Friday evening through Aug. 28 a free concert will be presented from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beside the Courtyard Fountain at Fort Wayne’s Jefferson Pointe.

August concerts will feature:

Aug. 21—Urban Legend

Aug. 28—Good Night Gracie.

Liberty Center Golf Outing Aug. 29

The Liberty Center Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor the annual Golf Outing Saturday, Aug. 29 at Etna Acres. Tee off will be at 8 a.m. Cost is $240 per team or $60 per person. Lunch will be served.

Bluffton Bible College begins Sept. 8

Bluffton Bible College, 3550S., State Road 1, Bluffton, will start classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8. 

This is a two year, four semester course for an associate degree in Biblical Studies. Cost is $300 per semester. Scholarships are available.

Psi Otes’ ‘Cork & Canvas’ Sept. 29

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 6:30 p.m. the Bluffton Psi Iota Xi’s will be sponsoring a “Cork & Canvas” opportunity at the Arts Commerce & Visitors Centre in Bluffton.

Participants will be able to enjoy an evening of painting with local artist Nancy Wagner, with painting supplies included. Refreshments of wine and appetizers also will be provided at the limited seating event. Cost is $35 with reservations due by Sept. 1.

Kitco Reunion Luncheon Oct. 10

A Kitco Reunion luncheon will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Wells County Public Library at 200 W. Washington Street in Bluffton.

Squirt Gun Fight & Slip and Slide Aug. 29

Due to the muddy conditions and cold temperatures the The Squirt Gun Fight and Slip and Slide has been rescheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29 at Lancaster Park (across from Lancaster Elementary School). 

Check in at 12:30 p.m. The event will start at 1:30 p.m. The Slip and Slide will be open at 2 p.m.
