Parks Department accepting donations for classes, programs
The Parks Department offers a variety of free fun activities for families in the community. 
In order to continue to provide these programs the department will accept donations of craft supplies, yarn, golf clubs and balls, tennis rackets, drum sticks, broken/unwanted electronics, comic books, fabric, ribbon, basket making supplies, glue, old calendars, clean canning jars, squirt guns, and party decorations. 

Scot Fredrickson fundraiser Aug. 15
Sark’s Concessions will be set up at the WalMart parking lot Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. serving elephant ears, funnel cakes and more to raise funds for Scot Fredrickson.
Fredrickson is a Wells County resident suffering from the rare and terminal disease, Creutzfeldt-Jakob.
All product and supplies will be donated so every penny received will go directly to Scot’s family for medical costs, housing, food and transportation for doctor visits.
Because of the disease Scot has been off work for the past 11 months. he and his wife Tera have been at incredible odds with extremely high treatment costs, numerous medical visits, living costs and more. Tera has stayed home to care for him to ensure that he is cared for 24 hours a day.

Proposals for Arts Place due Sept. 7
Arts Place is currently accepting proposals for its Portland center in Indiana. 
The center features a main gallery and two smaller galleries. The regional arts council is seeking innovative proposals from artists in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. Proposals for both 2- and 3- dimensional media for solo and/or group shows are welcomed.
