Limberlost Valentine’s Day Event Feb. 14
The Limberlost State Historic Site Visitor Center willhost an event on Valentine’s Day, Friday, Feb. 14, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. for an evening of wine tasting, a vintage movie based on a Gene Stratton-Porter book, and a fun presentation about animal courtship behaviors.
A variety of Indiana wines can be sampled, and other refreshments will be available. The featured movie will be “A Girl of the Limberlost,” the 1934 adaptation starring Marian Marsh. An entertaining program on animal courtship will be presented by “Professor Passion,” a leading expert on amorous animal activities.
Cost for the evening is $20 a person and is for adults only (21+) and reservations are required as space is limited. Proceeds from this event will help fund the kitchen restoration project at the Limberlost Cabin. Call 260-368-7428 for more information.
Daddy Daughter Dance Feb. 16
The annual Daddy Daughter Dance will be held at the 4-H building on Sunday Feb. 16th from 6-8 p.m.
This year’s theme is a Mardi Gras Mascarade Ball. Those attending are encouraged to wear purple, green or gold. Party favor masks, hats and beads will be handed out at the event, but feel free to wear your own too!
Tickets are on sale in the Clerk Treasurer’s office at city hall for $10 per couple and $3 for each additional child. Don’t forget to bring a camera! This event does sell out so purchase your tickets early! For more information call 824-6069.
