NMS Band fundraiser April 19:
Norwell Middle School Band will sponsor a fundraiser Tuesday, April 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at East of Chicago in Ossian. Part of the proceeds will go to the band.
Good Friday Service at St. John April 22:
St. John Family Worship Center will present Mel Gibson's movie “The Passion of the Christ” Good Friday evening, April 22, at 7 p.m. at 2771 Mulberry Street, Vera Cruz. Call 260-565-3678 for more information.
Southern Wells Church Easter Egg Hunt April 23:
The Southern Wells Community Church will sponsor an Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 23, at 10 a.m. on the south playground of Southern Wells Elementary School.
There will be three age groups and a special-needs group and door prizes for all ages. The Easter Bunny plans to hop by too! For more information call 765-728-2154. In event of inclement weather, the hunt will be held in the high school gym.
Deadline April 25 for Leader Training Lessons:
Purdue Extension Blackford County is sponsoring Leader Training Lessons April 28 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Blackford County Courthouse Annex meeting room. There is no cost to attend these lessons.
To make a reservation, please call the Blackford County Extension Office at 765-348-3213 by April 25.
Hope That’s Within Reach:
Area dancers will communicate through their upcoming ministry event on Friday, April 29 ,and Sunday, May 1.
The River Dance Company is a nonprofit studio that celebrates the creative arts with a Christ-centered difference. “Our Hope is Built on This” will be presented free in the Family Life Center of Central Church on Ind. 37 on Friday, April 29, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 1, at 6 p.m. A love offering will be taken. Sixty-five dancers ages 3 through adults from more than 20 area churches will present this combination of dance, testimony, music and lighting.
Central Church is located off I-469 at exit No. 25 just east of the interstate. The River Dance Company in Fort Wayne will be open for new student enrollment in June. Call 260-466-2705 or visiting www.RiverDanceCompany.org.
South Adams Senior Luncheon April 27:
Senior Luncheons will resume Wednesday, April 27, at noon at South Adams Senior Center.
The meal will be catered again this year by Norm's Preble Gardens. Cost is $5. The menu will include: beef and noodles, mashed potatoes, corn, roll and butter, cake and drinks.
Russell Strome will provide the entertain following the meal. Call 260-589-8877 by Monday, April 27, to make a reservation.
