• Five Points Fall Festival Sept. 8
The Friends of Five Points School will host the 16th annual Fall Festival Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school. The restored 1876 schoolhouse is believed to be the only one-room, two story brick schoolhouse in Indiana.

Activities include a meal of pulled pork sandwiches, dressing ham n' beans (cooked over an open fire), fried cornbread, hot dogs, fried sauerkraut, applesauce and cookies. The Wells County Model A Club will have the antique cars on display. Also, the Wells County Historical Society will present a display of model barns and pictures. All activities are free. However, a freewill offering is appreciated. All proceeds are used to further restore and maintain the schoolhouse and grounds.

• Fashionable art opens Sept. 8

Fashionable Art will be the exhibit of apparel from the 1920s and 1930s to be featured at the Weatherhead Gallery at the University of Saint Francis through Oct. 12. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. An opening reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, 6 to 9 p.m.

• Neighborhood Day and Pedal and Picnic Sept. 9
National Neighborhood Day and Pedal and Picnic will be held Sunday, Sept. 9, from 4-6 p.m. at Kehoe Park in Bluffton. The Bluffton Police and Fire Departments will grill hot dogs and serve them along with chips, pretzels, cookies and water.

Family-oriented magic tricks and comedy will be performed by Jim Barron.

A family bike ride is scheduled at 2:30 p.m. for the 8.5 mile or 3 p.m. for the 2.5 mile ride. Check in and registration for the bike ride begins at 2 p.m. For more information call 824-6069.

• Liberty Center Car Show Sept. 9
The Liberty Center Festival Committee will host the 11th annual Liberty Center Days and Car Show Sunday, Sept. 9. It will start with sign-ups for the car, truck and motorcycle show at 11 a.m. at Liberty Center Baptist Church parking lot.

Bands will begin at noon. Those featured will include Blue Grass Gospel Quartet, Mountain Dewe Boys, Gospel Overdrive, Dave Liles Band and Augusta Rose.

Admission is free. Available will be food, live music, a flea market, games for the kids and raffle drawings. No alcohol. All proceeds will help to improve the park.

• New youth outdoor soccer league signups Sept. 9
A new youth outdoor soccer league has been formed. Games will be played at the Bluffton-Harrison Elementary School soccer field every Saturday afternoon in October. Registration day is Sunday, Sept. 9, at Kehoe Park at 4 p.m. Those who can't make it to the signup can print the form from the city’s website at www.blufftonindiana.net and mail it back by Sept. 14. Cost is $20 per child. Grades are divided as follows: Kindergarten-second grade; third-fifth grade and sixth to eighth grade. There will also be adult soccer league information available as well. • Friends of Animal Shelter meeting Sept. 10
The Friends of the Animal Shelter will hold the next monthly meeting Monday, Sept. 10, at 5:30 p.m. in the Bluffton City Hall conference room.

Topics on the agenda include Street Fair float and booth preparations and review of monthly shelter operations. Call 260-273-1742 to learn more.
