Free gospel concert Nov. 13
The Lesters will be appearing at the Ossian Church of Nazarene at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13. The public is welcome to attend. Movies will be provided for small children. Often called St. Louis’ “first family of gospel music”, the Lesters have been singing gospel music for four generations and have numerous albums and CDs. A freewill offering for The Lesters will be taken. Call 622-7449 for additional information.

Concerto/Aria competition Nov. 19
The Marion Philharmonic Orchestra Friends are announcing the 22nd annual Concerto/Aria competition to be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Butz-Carruth Recital Hall on the campus of Taylor University.

High school and collegiate divisions are sponsored, with the winner in each division receiving $250 and a performance with the Marion Philharmonic Orchestra at a regularly scheduled concert.

Candidates are required to play a movement from the standard repertoire that has orchestral accompaniment. Memorization is not required. Candidates must furnish their own accompanists. For more information call the MPO office at 765-662-0012.

Cake-decorating class Nov. 10
Join Jeanne Ploetz at the Creative Arts Center Thursday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. to learn the art of cake decorating. The cost for the class is $6, which includes all supplies and a small decorated cake to take home. There will also be a cake-decorating door prize. Fish Fry Nov. 11 at Fort Wayne
Members of Fort Wayne Maennerchor/Damenchor will sponsor a fish fry Friday, Nov. 11, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at 3355 Elmhurst Drive, Fort Wayne. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and younger.

Dinner includes breaded pollock, scalloped potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce and a variety of cakes. Pork Tenderloins also available. All you can eat, including sides and dessert. Future dates include: Jan. 13, 2012, Feb. 10, 2012, March 9, 2012, April 13, 2012 and May 11, 2012.

Kiwanis ham and bean dinner Nov. 11
The Kiwanis of Montpelier will sponsor a ham and bean and cornbread dinner Friday, Nov. 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Montpelier Community Room. Freewill donations will be accepted. Proceeds will go to Kiwanis projects.

Holiday craft bazaar at Heritage Pointe Nov. 11
Heritage Pointe of Warren will sponsor its annual holiday craft bazaar Friday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Fults Recreation Room of Heritage Pointe.

Available will be holiday decor, decorated sweatshirts, children's items, baked goods, cheese balls, homemade candy, and more. Parking will be available in front of the building, and directions will be posted to get to the recreation room. Souper Missions supper Nov. 12
Members of Park United Brethren Church will sponsor a Souper Missions Supper Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. The church is located at 617 S. Bennett Street. Those attending should enter the side door in the alley.

Dinner will include several types of soup, hot dogs, chips, cake, beverage. A free will donation will be accepted during the event.

Holiday Bazaar Nov. 12 in Bluffton
A Holiday Bazaar involving at least 19 local vendors will be held Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Rosewood on Main in Bluffton. Vendors will be on hand to sell women's items, baby items, food items, home goods, and more.
